Matt Ryan is supposedly some kind of champion yodeler, so be prepared for that to be featured.

if i can watch and enjoy the bengals on hard knocks.. i can watch the falcons.

i think the eagles would've been fun to watch though.

Falcons turn down hard knocks, are Jets back in?

"Just when you thought the Jets were out of the "Hard Knocks" picture ...

The Falcons declined HBO's invitation to be the featured team on this summer's reality series, ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas reported Saturday, meaning the network (and NFL Films) could come knocking again on the Jets' door.

The Jets have sent out mixed signals on "Hard Knocks." Owner Woody Johnson said recently he'd consider it if a formal offer was made, but Rex Ryan appears to have no interest in reprising their starring role from 2010.

"If we're asked, we'll talk about it," Ryan said Monday on a conference call with reporters, dancing around the question.

Clearly, the Jets are divided. If there was unanimous interest, HBO probably never would've approached the Falcons. The Jaguars want to do it, and the 49ers and Ravens -- coached by the Harbaugh brothers -- also are being considered, ESPN.com reported.

ESPNNewYork.com first reported HBO's offer to the Falcons."

I still hope the Jets don't do it, especially if Rex isn't into it. The Falcons reason for declining was they, "decided they wanted their focus for the 2012 season to be exclusively on the football field." I'd like the Jets to take that attitude and approach.

That being said, I'd be glued to the screen if they were on again.

It would be awesome. When the Jets did it in 2010, not only was a I glued to the screen, but I was actually thinking about it during the week, like "When is Wednesday getting here?"

The part of me that watches football because I want the Jets to win the Super Bowl tells me we don't need the distractions.

The part of me that wants to be entertained wants the Jets to be on Hard Knocks.

I lean towards not wanting to be on the show. But if they are, I'll be excited to watch the show, that's for sure. It's not like being on the show prevents us from winning the Super Bowl.

I don't believe hard knocks would have a negative effect but if Rex doesn't want it then we shouldn't do it. I would have loved to seen the Jets on it again though.

Its not like we're gonna win it this year either so why not milk the notoriety and nonsense for all its worth.

I'm calling this one early this year. 44 years and counting..

A perfect draft that included a trade of Tim Tebow would probably give us a real shot. Take Kirk Cousins to pressure Sanchez and maybe take the job in a year or two, when he slides to the 4th for being too happy with himself and too glib (thanks Jon Gruden) after trading back with the Browns to get the 4th pick of the 4th round.

BTW, if the Rex Ryan regime comes to an end I want Jon Gruden as the Jets next HC. Freaking smart guy and he's still kind of young since Al gave him his first shot at such a young age.

I believe HBO, in denying Jax felt they didn't want to have to change the show's name to "Nobody Knocks"

well no need for the season then. The draft hasn't happened yet, and you have written us off.

Glad to see you are still keeping positive.

Woody should spend more time fixing his healthcare company, which is going in the shitter, with thousands of people losing their jobs.

He has never had anything to do with or spent one day in his life working for J&J. He just inherited a fortune that his relatives made with it.

Yeah, after 43 straight years, reading the tea leaves isn't all that hard to do.

Right now, and it could change, I see these AFC teams being better than the Jets:
    Pats
    Ravens
    Texans
    Broncos (if Peyton stays healthy)
    Steelers

At best, that would put the Jets in the WC as a 5th or 6th seed. I really don't see how we win the division barring a Brady injury.

The Jets were 8-8 with no victories over teams with a winning record. That's at best a mediocre team, possibly worse. I see a lot of holes on the team. I think asking a team to fill those holes via the draft and with very little cap room is asking a lot. I know all teams have holes. I think the locker room issues are a big concern. I hated Rex admitting he lost the pulse of the team.

Again, all these opinions are my own, and that's it. Just opinions. I just can't realistically see the Jets winning a SB (again) this year.
