the franchise has been better than ever on a consistent basis, we have been one of the bes AFC teams since he took over but somehow Woody is one of the worst owners in the league.
This, is just beautiful. I've been so baffled by his negativity, that I've had a hard time to keep my mouth shut and just move on. Especially when he preaches his logic in such a in-your-face fashion, it's on the verge of how mentally ill people look at things. This was the perfect way to display the massive flaw of thinking, hopefully his propaganda run can quite down some now. /applause
Calvin Pace was a 28 year old player when the Jets signed him. He'd never had more than 6.5 sacks in a season and had 14 over a 5 season career at that point. Who in their right mind would have thought he was worth millions of dollars and would somehow magically turn into a big sacker after his career was already half over? What decision maker could possibly have made that call or evaluated him as anything other than an average player? Put another way: what is it about the Jets FO that has them consistently fantasizing about the players they acquire, making them out to be good when in fact they tend to be average to poor?
I remember the hype on the Pace signing, and there was something to it, in at least the sense that his average numbers as you indicate were not all that impressive, but he was injured during that period. Plus he played inside LB for the Cards until 2007, the year before he joined the Jets. His numbers in 2007 were actually pretty impressive: 106 tackles, 6.5 sacks, six passes deflected, two fumbles recovered, one forced fumble and one interception. he then signed with the Jets, to his credit passing over an offer to play with Miami. His first year here was pretty good too. 80 tackles, seven sacks. in 2009 he was suspended for the first four games after testing for roids, but he went on to get 8 sacks in only 12 games. also three forced fumbles. But the injuries came back in 2010, he missed games and slowed down some, and he's also now 32 as of last week. But based on his numbers in Arizona and his first two years here, I would call him a good player, not average to poor. That's in the past, and his future is very dim with the Jets. But I think you tend to overstate your case a bit when it comes to using him as an example of your point.
