If he were just incompetent, he should have still gotten a job as some sort of relatively unimportant assistant coach. That he didn't means either he doesn't want to be in the NFL unless he's a coach or OC (which even if he weren't a conniving SOB, he wouldn't get hired for), or the teams decided absolutely not we're not letting this conniving SOB into our building. Also it isn't collusion in the sense that teams are putting pressure on other teams not to hire him. It's that each team has independently decided they want nothing to do with him.
I guess I give the guy much less importance than you do and see much less demand for his work; how much demand do you see for incompetents? Even then, if a guy is blackballed it takes a group effort, not just individual actions.

I don’t believe anyone has said otherwise but plenty of failed coaches get second, third, 4th chances as assistants. One of them is leading the defense of the back to back Super Bowl champs
I get it but Gase was next level awful. Running two franchises into the dirt in the span of 2-3 years is rarefied air.
