Do you really think the interview garnered sympathy for Revis? Most people who aren't Jets fans didn't even know that Revis was still under contract, now they do.

Actually, by Woody looking as bad as he did, Yes I unequivocally think that. Most people don't give a shit about the contract. They see big bad owner looking like an ass.

Edit: He would have been better off shutting his piehole.

I don't really give a fuck if Woody sounded retarded in the interview. Revis is demanding too much coin for a CB and coupled with the CBA bullshit I hope the NYJ stand firm and prepare to move on without him. I also don't think revis will hold out the entire season if he doesn't get the deal he wants

No one is debating that, we all know he is demanding too much coin. But that interview didnt help at all.

You just don't get it, the Jets are NOT cheap, they (Woody) are doing everything possible to keep this great core of players together for not only this season, but for many to come, Revis is a great player, but can we give him 10% of our future salary cap?? The players in that locker room should be pissed at Revis, because he wants a larger slice of the pie, (w/ 3 years left on his deal), should we write a blank check to Mangold? Harris? Holmes or Edwards? should we re-due Greene's contact after this season if he has a big year???

Revis won't be traded, if he is he will not be traded to the Ravens. Does not matter what they offer.

He'd be headed to a crap team in conference or out of conference.

Ravens are Also a top contender and handing the Revis would be asinine.

Stop right now. You don't know what the salary cap is going to look like.

They already lost in the court of public opinion before this whole thing began. Almost every media outlet I've seen and caller I've heard on WFAN is solely taking the Jets to task on this Revis thing.

I don't know what Woody said but really he couldn't have made it any worse, the Jets have already gotten hammered on all sides while Revis sits in his bunker avoiding the Hard Knocks cameras during their negotiation so that his outrageous demands aren't made public.

I don't listen to the radio in New York. Everyone I know is taking this for what it is, a Mexican standoff. Both sides are 50% right and 50% wrong.

I think you are sadly mistaken if prior to the interview you think Revis was sitting pretty and everyone is completely on his side.

Woodrow came off terribly, like he was lying or hiding shit..... by "hiding shit" I mean it negatively, not in the neutral way he should have used. (there is a distinct difference)

He should have came out and avoided the Revis question, like any smart publicist would have suggested. He would have been fine.

He also could have come out and just told the truth.

" Revis is a terrific player, we want him as a lifelong Jet. Yes, we approached him about a new contract, as all sides feel he outplayed his current one. The team is going to miss him as the team can ill afford a lopsided deal in this salary cap era. We would like to do a deal beneficial to both sides."

Bam it is thrown back into Revis's lap. Instead he looked awful..... To be honest I think of him as a fucking idiot after that interview.

I think Woody played it perfect.

It's not in his interest at all to throw any praise towards Revis now. That would be completely counterproductive. Woody has nothing to gain my kissing his ass.

As mentioned earlier after that aired Revis' agents immediately released a statement about wanting to meet.

    Job done in my book.

Not to belabor this but if you watched that interview and thought he came out well, then we watched a different interview......

To be clear you watched that E-60 in ESPN?

He was awful and the only thing he did perfect was look like a jerkoff.

Yeah, that's what I wanted him to do. Let Rex and Tanny kiss his ass, he's the owner. Woody's role in my opinion is to be the bad guy and Tanny negotiating off that. Good Cop/Bad Cop thing. Just my opinion.

Woody looked high but that's a whole different issue.

Not really, I am a neutral opinion prior and still am in this holdout. I am calling a spade a spade.

Imagine if this is all a ploy to get ratings for Hard Knocks? Then Revis signs for the last episode.

If the Revis/Had Knocks conspiracies were true, I'd actually be quite relieved.

Last episode? No chance. I said earlier, though, that it was far fetched but not impossible that today was subterfuge. With the quick turnaround they use for the show, he could have signed today and only lost a day of camp waiting for it to air on Hard Knocks. Insanely unlikely, but the lone source of hope for a quick resolution at this point.
