how many more seasons do you think the boy wonder is going to play for? because once he is gone I doubt we are going to see many of you Pats fans posting around here for a good long while.
4-5 which, in football, is an eternity. I think most Pats fans do take him for granted but that's a normal reaction with 10 out of 11 AFCE championships and 13 straight winning seasons.
Heh I remember when this used to be 3/4 last super bowls. Then it became 16-0, and now it becomes AFC East titles and winning seasons. Hopefully the slide downwards continues  I can't figure out what path you guys want for the playoffs. Cincy has a strong defense that can make life difficult, but also have Andy Dalton who can make some terrible decisions. I'm guessing SD over CIN sending IND/KC to Foxboro then SD upsets DEN again sending them to Foxboro.
Woody Johnson must like never winning the division, never hosting a playoff game, and not being in the playoffs for the last 3 years. Because that's what Rex has done for us Big words, but nothing to back it up. Groundhog Day every year.
I don't think this is any different on any other team. Idzik is no fool, he knows what we have for talent on the team and how far that talent should have taken us this season. Less than 8-8 for sure. I'm not real fond of Rex, I think he mails it in too often when we play a weak opponent. I think we could have had 10 wins this season if Rex gave the same effort to Buff and Mia that he did against NE and NO. He just doesn't seem to have his team ready every week. Having said that, when he does have them ready, they play ball above their heads, I think we saw that several times this year. Hopefully Idzik will light a fire under Rex's ass.
Anyone see this? Simply awesome. What a great coach to have on board to jump start a new beginning. http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...as_Coach/ac9d869a-d78d-410a-b819-055f06ccf75c Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I like the idea of stability, but the pressure is on, Rex has ~.500 winning % and missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. He is going to be expected to compete for the division next year, another 8-8 season and sitting out of the playoffs and no matter how much he's liked Rex is gone. I will say Idzik is basically a puppet at this point, clearly he wanted Rex gone not only last year, but definitely this year. Woody overruled him, so Idzik basically has no power at all as GM.
Where do you guys get this from? What have you seen that everyone missed that indicates Idzik has ANY inclination to want Ryan gone much less "clearly...wanted Rex gone not only last year, but definitely this year?"
It's all speculation which makes it hearsay. That's the problem I have with this thread. You can't prove it, you are not in the meetings.
No GM wants to build upon a leftover coach from another GM's era who is on year three of missing the playoffs. Of course Idzik wanted Rex gone and his own guy in place, plus those media reports and Rex coming out saying they were already shopping for his replacement didn't just invent themselves.
