There are high school teams that would fare better in the NFL than that. I wouldn't blame Woody one bit if he commenced with the firing tonight. For a collapse of this magnitude, someone has to be accountable for it with their job. Otherwise, you're sending a message to the players that such ineptitude and incompetence is not only accepted, but rewarded.

Woody You tried for 20+ years and couldn't achieve. Give it up. Sell the team. Focus on your kids and family. Sell the team to a guy who cares about winning. Jets are not a business. A lot of us Jets fans live and die with this team. Yes we are schmucks for caring too much about this team but majority of us loved this team before you became an owner. As a fan base we are bigger than you and your Johnson last name. Give it up. You couldn't do it. Collect the money and enjoy it with your family. Leave Jets to the people who care about winning. You sucked yesterday, you suck today, you will suck tomorrow as an owner. Give it up and leave us alone.

Anyone who thinks Woody Johnson is ever selling the Jets is delusional. Winning is just vanilla ice-cream after a crappy meal to cleanse our palates after the agita. Yours, not his, because the winning that does happen rarely amounts to anything. The value of the team has increased exponentially and compound interest alone even if 20,000 people a game show up year after year will never hurt him financially. It's an asset that will keep on giving giving and giving win or lose, BUT of course winning makes people buy, buy, buy tickets and merchandise as opposed to burning it. Well, you can't burn tickets anymore but whatever. Anyway, this idea that he cares about the fans, also delusional. Winning makes everything more palatable obviously, but the only thing Woody The Rube cares about is the balance sheet, which hey, that's why he bought his little diversion. Nothing wrong with that, right? Right, there most certainly isn't; but there's a wrong way and a right way to treat your season ticket holders and still make $ but he's an asshole, let me count the ways. That's for another day, though. At the end of the day it's also simply ego over his pet rock. How happy we are is a secondary by-product. Most people don't kid themselves about that or don't even give a shit or think about that part.
