Im kinda tired for the hate Woody gets TBH. If the Jets win in 09 or 10 then you would all be saying he is such a great owner. The guy has spent money and has tried to win, its not his fault we came up short in the championship games. IDK to me it seems he is trying his best to get this franchise to win...
What does this have to do with the comments he made. He basically said I'm not a true Jet fan because I live in Ohio and can't pay to be a season ticket holder. For that reason I'm lesser of a fan than those that do have season tickets. GTFO
is it that he is just completely out of touch with the reality of the typical man? does he think that everyone can just jump in the jet and fly over here and there with no cares about their kids or their work? we know he didnt work, and well lets just say i assume he didnt do such a bang up job as a dad. does he really think, still at this point of stadiums half empty and steelers fucking fans everywhere that he made the RIGHT decisions on psls and ticket prices? or is he just a cock hole smoker.
Anybody who believes Woody does his own tweeting also believes Christie knew nothing about the bridge fiasco.
Being upset about ticket prices in the NY/NJ metro area is like being upset about getting wet when you swim. People upset at Woody Johnson about the Jet's ticket prices need to realize that the Giants are worse. Not by a lot but definitely worse. Who else is tough on the wallet? The Ravens and Redskins both charge a lot. The DC metro area has a lot of very wealthy fans in it. Not as many as NY/NJ but enough to drive the ticket prices through the roof. The Bears are worse than the Jets. Lots of money in Chicago and only one football team to soak it up. So are the Pats. Not as much money up in Boston but Bob Kraft has put together a sales machine that draws from all over New England and the folks that make the pilgrimage pay though the nose for it. A significant number of those folks come from territory that should be Jets turf based on proximity but the decision to plant roots in New Jersey instead of Queens tipped the balance there and the fans with an hour and a half drive to NY go two and a half hours east instead to see the better team. If you really want to get ripped off as a fan go see a Cowboys game.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to the people of New York who boldly proclaim to be die hard Jets fans and without substance bash the product, the coach, the quarterback, and the front office any chance they get. Yet, they don't put a dime into watching the product on the field. Regardless, it's a moronic thing to say.
seriously. in addiiton to the 10's of thousands of dollars for a PSL and thousands of dollars in flights/accomodations to go to those games not every "real fan" can afford it if woody wants to fly me in on his private jet ill get season tickets
i dont see the owners of giants, ravens, pats, or cowboys calling out fans as "not real fans" if they dont buy season tickets
This has everything to do with Woody not being in touch with the fans of his team. Regardless of ticket prices and all this other stuff, as an owner you just don't alienate a large portion of your fan base who doesn't have season tix by saying what he said. From a marketing and sales standpoint, that is the definition of idiotic. And this is coming from a 47 year season ticket holder.
I wouldn't be so sure he doesn't, it's not like he has some big job outside the Jets to deal with. But even if he doesn't, shouldn't he be aware of what they're planning on tweeting from his name? I think he's responsible for this either way. If it was some rogue social media employee then we should hear Woody denying the comment.
You doubt the owner of the New York Jets has a smart phone? Yea OK. Here's Woody on his windows phone. Looks like he's just making a call.
does anyone really have to ask these questions? just look at the fucking way he dresses "casual" with his dumb baseball hat with his suit and tie, the guy is a clueless dork desperate for acceptance.
