Gholston was paid millions and produced nearly nothing for our team. Woodhead made a decent contribution this year and at least showed some potential and is being paid a pittance (in NFL terms). Why would anyone have a problem with this re-signing??

Umm...what value are you talking about? Like, when Bart Scott got injured against the Colts and a Safety had to play for him? So Ihedigbo is playing the LB position better than Gholston I assume. That too after two full seasons, including a bunch of starts. Woodhead, on the other hand, doesn't have a start yet. Probably won't for a slot receiver anyways.
Woodhead brings value as a breather for other WRs or RBs. Gholston is a liability and can't backup an injured LB. When safety has to go in as an LB, its time for pink slip.

I have no idea what people dislike about this guy. He showed in the Bucs game that he has some good ball-catching skills and at the end of the Raiders game that he is quick. He does not get a lot of meaningful snaps but that's what a 3rd or 4th string RB is....a once in a while guy who you hope to get a spark from or give some carries to as a thank you. He embodies the hard work mentality Rex wants and has taken enough pro hits to show he is tough enough. The guy can be useful in the screen game or on third down. My biggest disappointment in regard to him was the failure to try and replace Leon with him to a degree. Edelman is no Welker but did a great impersonation and I think Danny could have been similar as a replacement for Leon.
I believe that WR thing was always meant to be temporary but once they changed his number it had to stay that way for the season. It was explained in an article or during a game or something.
You people are crazy. How is this hate even warranted? #1-The guy is 5'8" 200lbs, hardly a hobbit and more like a brick shit house. #2-The kid plays with heart and loves the game. So he doesn't but up 20 YPC yet. This means he's not worth the league minimum? Did you catch his pre-season play? If anything he's proven he's at least worth a try for money that’s a drop in the bucket for this team. No wonder NY fans get a bad reputation. Why don't you try encouraging the athletes that play on our beloved Jets instead of putting them down? For all you know they read these boards and a little love never hurt anyone’s confidence.
