Pennington is better to be honest(no green shades on either). Eli really hasn`t done anything. We`ll see as time goes by though. Eli may eventually end up being a better a QB only because he has support from his O-Line and plays against the NFC. Dallas being the only real competition he has to face. The rest of the NFC is weak. Just my opinion though.

disagree.......he is just underutilized. Everytime I see baker get involved he is making spectacular catches. I dont know if id say better but def close.

If Chad had a big arm he's be in the same breath w/ Brady and peyton so the answer is no it wouldn't even be a debate.

It's Eli's 3rd year staring, after 3 years starting Chad had 2 playoff wins in the much tougher AFC.

Chad didn't have the offensive weaponry that Eli had and he didn't have the benefit of playing in a creampuff conference.

i think the giants offense is over rated. outside of burrous(sp) and tikki, they had nothing. i think shockey is major over rated, alot of key dropped passes at critical points in games..

Shockey drops passes but the guy catches 70-80 balls a year, that's a decade's worth for Jet TEs. He has had Toomer and Burress plus Tiki at his best.

I'm a better quarterback than Eli Manning. Come on, too easy. Compare him with another crappy quarterback in the league and shout for the green shades to come off. Eli Manning, even with no pressure, consistently misfires. Repeatedly. Always has. Still is. At this point, he may always do it. It's the same as JP Losman. Everyone says the same thing every year: "This is his breakout year!"

No. It isn't. There is no "breakout year". If every young player automatically got continually better each year, teams would never cut RFAs and veterans wouldn't be needed. They don't, so people need to get over it.

So we need to pick between someone whose arm is inaccurate and makes poor decisions and someone whose arm is weak but most of the time makes the right decision? How is this poll even close? Jeez the following poll would be just as close due to people just voting against Chad:

Noodelarm OR... Armanti Edwards? Comm on now guys, take the green shades off! He DID beat Michigan State! And he has huge upside too, he's young!

This is the solid gold answer IMO. No one argues about their comparative accomplishments, but that of course is completely irrelevant to the question at hand (it isn't the 2002 Pennington that is being compared to Manning, it's the 2007 version). No one argues about their comparative physical gifts. I like the way Alio put it - if Manning had Pennington's smarts he'd be 3/4 of Peyton, which is twice Pennington.

The Giants-haters among us (and I am one of them) have to be a little concerned this year, because Manning does seem to have cut down a bit on his occasional unbelievably bad decisions. If that pattern continues he could actually become a good QB.

Yes, Eli is sporting some new bling. Nevertheless, IMO the true MVP is the Giants Defense. Eli helped them go ahead, but the defense kept them in that game.

What I can't figure out for the life of me is WTF was I doing here with my vote? I really don't understand it. This was a poll from October 2007- not October 2006. I was already way down on Pennington by 2007.
I voted for Pennington here for one of two reasons, or maybe both of the reasons-
I was either drunk or I thought Manning was not good.
