Do the Jets try to snag an OLB in Free Agency?

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure who's available in FA.

The FA pickings are VERY slim.

anything is possible, but the #1 priority is to resign our own guys, if we can add people thats great, but if we keep the group together and get better in certain areas (QB consistency, among others) we will be a better team for it.

We might however look to trade for a FA once trades are allowed.

As far as the draft goes, couple of guys still on the board, Acho, Jeremy Beal and Bruce Miller are my favorites left around.

    Franchised.

Should mention there are more quality safeties available than 3-4 OLBs.

Yeah, I'd rather grab an OLB in the 4th at this point, but that and safety are our biggest remaining needs. Either one would be a good pickup tomorrow.

If it goes back to 2010 rules, we're going to have to let someone walk and hope they pull in a huge deal.

I wouldn't be upset with Eric Hagg or Robert Sands in the next round.

Absolutely agree, we are in a great position based on the way the board stands right now. We are also in the enviable position of just looking to add talent wherever we can find it. Sure we have needs, but if there is great value somewhere, we absolutely do not need to reach to fill a need.

I have decided I am rooting for Deunta Williams in the 4th though.

Yes I'm kind of shocked how few safeties have been taken, because their are some quality ones available. At the rate the draft is going it wouldnt shock me to see us take at least one safety day three.

As far as OLBs go, its going to be about identifying projects. Would like to mention that Moch, Beal, Carter, and others are still available.

While 2010 rules restrict our ability to add talent, it absolutely empowers us when it comes to keeping our top talent. The only FA who would be unrestricted, that really matters in the grand scheme of things, is Braylon Edwards. Sure Holmes will bitch about his tender, but the point is we control his rights until we get him a long term deal, and that is absolutely huge.

Moch got drafted by the Bengals,, but Beal and Carter are definitely worth the Jets keeping an eye out for

Well Moch is a Bengal, but swap him out for Acho and you are on the mark:up:

We've made back-to-back AFC Championship Games without an elite pass-rusher, and I think we'll be okay without one next year too. With great CBs, the need is definitely less for one. If we resign Cromartie, we should have an even better defense than last year with the new life on the DL, and that was a top-5 defense already.
