I think we could get him with this year's first and a 2010 conditional.

the Jets would have to clear some cap space to sign Cutler to a new contract....which means...one of our higher profile players would have to be included with our 1st round pick.....perhaps TJones would be a good example.

TJones???????? Coming off the year he had with no other every down RB on the rsoter no way! Other players would have to renegotiate in order for this to work. Ellis,Thomas,Gholston etc.

2 of the 3 QBs on the roster would be goners. Clemens and Ainge.

His current contract is pretty cap friendly until 2011. If we could get him to stick with that it would be fine.

TJones is a great HB...but he's also expendable. We could draft a Donald Brown in the 2nd or 3rd round to replace him. Also, Jones is getting up there in age.

HB is one of the most interchangeable positions on offense, man.....I wouldn't shed a tear if we sent Jones packing as part of a possible Cutler deal.

We would have to cut or rework a big time player or 2 to make it work. But if that is what it takes I am all for it.

yeah...i just took a quick look at Jones' contract details...you're right, it's quite friendly. his cap number is only 900k this year, and then jumps to 2.8 million for 2010. The Jets FO really frontloaded his deal.

I disagee TJ is a beast with experience and knowledge hes been to the big game. Hes as consistent as a consistency gets. As someone mentioned LJ is a scat back very easily replaced as a RB, as a kick returner a different story.

I would let Jones go in a heart beat he is about to fall off skills wise. He is 31 which is like 40 to a QB.

ah...i thought you were referring to TJ.

Anyways...Cutler's agent is already clamoring for a new deal...so i doubt that contract will stick if he ends up here or anywhere else for that matter.

Running backs make the best transition to the NFL game a QB or WR could take years. If they wanted TJ they can have him.

our run game goes as our Oline goes. TJ is replaceable.

when our oline was shit in 2007...TJ barely had a 1000 yards...and 1 rushing TD.

    EDIT: I'm not saying he's a bad player...i'm just saying he's expendable.

No way have you ever seen this guy in person. Hes built like a rock. So all of a sudden the running team will let go its best RB to acquire Cutler who will throw to all inexperienced WRs exception Cotchery. We are back to square 1 gentlemen. You cant pass every down.

Just because he gets you turned on doesn't mean he has a lot left in the tank.

jesus 1290....our oline is stout.....you could be a 1000 yard back behind that oline...eyepatch and all!!

TJ is not the end all be all of HB's.
