it's pretty much a given that when you ask for a trade you'll have to agree to terms with that new team before the trade goes through

I love how a lot of people think The Jets, of all teams, have all these hidden gems on the roster.

Especially players that couldn't even secure a starting spot in previous years. Suddenly with a new coach, these guys populating the bench are going to the pro bowl.

I don't want Cutler anymore. The more I think about it, the more of an ass he is. This is a team sport. Your job is never safe. Crying like a little bitch because someone tried to trade for a QB is sad. I don't want a QB who feels he is entitled to a job. A new coaching staff comes in, they can do what they want. Who does he think he is? 0 playoff appearances, needing to win 1 game in the final 4 to make the playoffs and he can't? He is an ass.

He has, I believe, 3 years left on his current contract. Teams won't be anxious to give him a new one no matter what they give up in picks to get him.

How is he an ass? You're at your job, that you've been performing pretty well, and suddenly a new boss comes in and starts talking to a person at his last job about possibly replacing you.

Will you be sucking his toes afterwards?

wow...now THERE's an argument. Listen up folks, he's an ASS...so let's pass on him.

Here's a newsflash people....not everybody is a class act like Curtis Martin. And to be honest...I want a QB that is cocky, skilled and quite frankly..is a little bit of an ass...if it means we're gonna get some serious production and fire from the QB position. Look at Phillip Rivers...the guy isn't the most likeable person...but he willed his team to the playoffs last year. I'd take that...with no questions asked.

You guys want somebody classy....go watch cricket.

What has Drew Brees proven in the playoffs or Rivers or Payton Manning or Chad Pennington or McNabb or any number of top rated QB's? This guy is young, healthy and has great ability and stats at a young age to back up his ability. He would be the second best QB in the division right now assuming Brady comes back at pre-injury level. Assuming Brady doesn't besides Payton Manning he is clearly in the class of Rivers and Palmer who still hasn't come back to pre-injury form and has a substantially better arm than Rivers.

Hard to tell what his mental makeup is. He has demonstrated some bad signs but so has Rivers but I would take either of them in a minute. He made a few passes in the game against us which only 2 or three NFL QB's could make right now. At 25 with 3 years under his belt, he would be worth a boatload of money.

If we are going to wait to get a proven QB at a reasonable price, we will never have a franchise qb.

If there is belief in either Clemens or Ratliff fine if there is the kind of doubt that was behind getting Favre last year than this is a no brainer.

McDaniels is from a system that didn't necessarily like (or have) high numbered picks. I think the Jets could get it done with #17 and a 3rd rounder in 2010 plus one of the 3 QBs currently on the roster.

I wanted him back in 2006...now...just can't decide. Would feel better if we had a veteran deep WR threat -- which we don't; we don't know what Clowney could be yet and I don't want Cutler to manage a ball control offense and throwing screens

Denver is not going o trade him to an AFC team unless every team in the NFC passes..so that would mean Detroit and Minnesota just for starters. Won't happen.

    oh..and San Francisco too.

If you look at Baltimore and Ryan father, they believe in D and running the ball but when they throw the ball they throw it down the field.

But, is Detroit willing to give up all their picks for the guy when they need so much more than a QB? Then again, it's the Lions. They are capable of retardation at any moment.

Plus he can control the ball AND still hold the long ace in his pocket. Makes it a much harder scenario to defend than just ball control.

You guys don't see the point obviously. He has done nothing to give himself the comfort of being the starting QB in Denver. He is a little whiny bitch now asking for a trade. This hurts Denver's chances at compensation too. Terrible.

87.1 Career rating. 0 playoff appearances. 54-37 TD/INT ratio. Only 2 seasons as a starter. Where does that guarentee you a starting spot or allow you to be so cocky?

He has all the tools to be a great QB and has shown in the NFL he can be a great one so 2 1st rounders are a great deal for us if he becomes the QB EVERYBODY thinks he will be.

Exactly! What Cutler should have done is drop down and done 50 push-ups while saying "thank you sir, may I have another"

And to boot, people are saying Cutler hasn't proven anything. WTF has McDaniels proven? Less.

He is the head coach. He can do what he wants. He wants to improve his 8-8 team and feels Cassel is a better team player than Cutler. Probably true.
