Electric.....I'm not a Mod......but I recommend toning it down a bit. People can agree to disagree, let's be civil. I often disagree with many on this draft board and many disagree with My POV, let's discuss our opinions about certain players and not attack each other. I respect some of your opinions and you have very good knowledge of Football. Appreciate your help...Thx.

As for others who have brought up Electric's MBA etc.......that's uncalled for and on the border of starting personal attacks.

Our pick will most likely be a choice from:
    Chris Long DE Virginia
    Calais Cambell DE Miami
    Quentin Groves OLB/DE Virginia
    Vernon Gholston OLB/DE Ohio St.
    Kenny Philips S Miami

I don't think we should select a quarterback at this point in the draft.

I'm keeping it as toned down as I can. I came into another thread and basically called me "stupid". I don't care about that, but I have the right to somewhat defend myself.

I'm really big into the draft, and I am constantly looking at prospects that look for for not only the Jets, but all teams. So for him to call my football knowledge unintelligent is just a cheap insult that had no purpose.

I don't care if someone disagrees with me. In this thread, I just don't agree with Green Hurricanes opinion of Calais Campbell. I see him in a completely different way.

i wouldnt consider groves in there anymore, since his switch to OLB his stock has really dropped and i think if we dont draft a de/olb in the first we could grab him in the 2nd
edit: and he plays for auburn not virginia

No one will trade up with us unless they are in love with Gholston if he's still there at 6. I believe we should take Gholston unless the offer is tremendous anyway. Think about it, we can't really fool anyone into thinking we're about to take a Brohm, Ryan or Woodson, and no one is afraid that if they don't get to our pick, the Patriots will pick the best QB behind us. If Baltimore wants a QB, they aren't far behind us. The only team I could see moving up is Minnesota, and that isn't really their style of drafting. They've been pretty conservative since the Herschel Walker debacle, haven't they? I think most teams this year will pick where they fall. If there are any trades, it will be in the middle to the latter part of the round.

I don't think he will slip down to 6 either but nobody though Leinart was going to slip to 10 and the same thing happened with Brady Quinn. The draft is a total crapshoot.

If he slips out of the top 5 it is because of the position, not the player. You can find a running back outside of the first round. It almost crazy to pick one real high unless he is a lock.
    Here are your playoff examples
Giants-starter late 2nd or third round.
    backup Bradshaw-5th round?
    third _Drouhns - 4th round
    Cowboys- starter-Marion Barber 3rd?
    backup- Jones-1st
    Redskins-starter-Portis-late first
    backup-Betts-4th
    Seahawks-starter-Shaun Alexander-High first-(Hurt all season)
    backup-what's his name-3rd at best
    Tampa-starter- Ernst Graham-5th round
Chargers- starter- LT-high first (#2 that year I think)
backup-Very good player- they were offered #1's last year.
    Pats-starter-Maroney-low first
backup- dude from Miami-free agent pickup
    third -Kevin Faulk-3rd rounder?
    Steelers-starter-Parker-3rd round?
backup-guy who used to play in GB- FA pickup
Jags-starter Fred Taylor -mid first I think
backup-MJD-2nd round(I wanted the Jets to grab him after watching the combine)
    Colts-starter-Addai-late first I believe
I know I'm alittle off on some of these, but I think my point is made. More importatant to have a stud OL than a RB.

    Draftafullback,

I am starting to see that. I read a couple scouting reports, and got excited about his measurables. I guess you just can't judge a player by there size, and speed. I still hope to see Kendall Langford in green and white. From everything I have read on this guy so he could be a nice project player, and cheap.

Where is there a good player available that is a good fit for a 3-4 DE/DT? There isn't one in the draft, we have tried about 5-6 different FA's that haven't worked(Anyone remember Kimo?forget about this years parade of nothingness), yet all the other teams that run the 3-4(NE, Pitt,Dallas) have them. Why? They grew their own.The kid plays the run very well and took on multiple blockers the whole second half of the season. Don't get thrown off by the body type. We would make the D more flexible and could play 3 different positions for the Jets current D(RE/LE/OLB). I know its a small gamble, but that position has been a black hole(and Ellis is getting older quickly). I'm fairly sure Gholston and both Longs' will be gone by our pick.(Gholston will rock the combine) If that is the case our best option is to trade down and grab that kid around #10-12. A smart coach knows how to get playmakers on the field. If this kid waits one more year he could be the first player taken( Just like Dorsey)I'm telling you this kid has crazy athletic ability and alot of heart. He'll be a MONSTER for somebody, why not us.

Albert Haynesworth- Likely to be franchised and out of shape.Great player.
Tommy Kelly- hurt all year.played in 7 games. Career best 4.5 sacks 3 years ago.
Randy Starks-Started 4games this year as a 4th year player. We have guys like him.

    Draft:

    Dre Moore-don't know him
    Kentwan Balmer- BAD senior year.
Kendall Langford-like him. Might not be there in round 3. NOt a 1st rounder
    Chris Norwell-4th rounder at best
    DeMario Pressley-don't know him
    Frank Okam-big load, but slooooow
    Jason Shirley-don't know him.
My point is we have the 6th pick and this is our most glaring need(OL close second).

If Pat Somms entered the draft, he just leapfrogged everyone on my list. That is our guy, even ahead of Campbell.

I have an odd hunch that Campbell will drop into the 2nd rd, like Alan Branch did last year. Just a gut feeling.
