Jets are in a fine position to get a tackle. Only one should be gone ahead of them (Titans) and even if someone trades up and both tackles are gone, there will still be Latham and Fuaga, even Mims. Jets are fine

LMAO - you think teams don't tank? You think that the Colts went from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck through luck? You think the Jags didn't position themselves to get Trevor? You think teams don't ditch their highly paid players in order to "rebuild" with a view to getting a better pick?

I understand the arguments against drafting purely for need, and I understand that people get bent out of shape if we take the 30th ranked player at 10 or whatever, but if there is an NFL-quality offensive lineman available at the 10th spot we have to take him. Just a capable, NFL-quality lineman. We saw what our offense looked like behind that sieve and we just can't let that happen again. If we took a tight end or a receiver I would feel sick to my stomach.

The proviso is that we may shore up the line in free agency, we'll see about that. But even then it would be nice to get some depth for a change.

An NFL quality tackle would be a major upgrade so I would be all for it!

Rarely agree with you but Fuaga or Latham will for sure be there at 10.

I want no part of Mims though. That guy is Becton 2.0

Does anyone think the Jets can afford to pass on Kool-Aid McKinstry? Like, come on? Sauce and Kool-Aid? Think of the jersey sales, guys.

The Jets select a player with a glaring weakness, or three. Maybe an undersized D End, or a scared, junior league QB or another D Tackle because they've been so wildly successful with playoff appearances employing all of these strategies.

The Jets truly own the offseason.

I agree on Mims. He certainly has the physical tools and ability, but he’s played like 6 college games or something like that. He’s a project. That’s fine, but if it’s me, I’m not picking those guys in the first round, especially ahead of tackles who’ve proved they can do it.

Also, if you rarely agree with me, you must be wrong a whole lot lol.

Only if he changes his name. There are certain names the Jets should not draft anymore. Mims is one of them.

I think it all depends on how the offseason goes.

As it stands now, I'd honestly have the trade back option at 1, then Fuaga/best OT available at 2, then pass-catcher at 3. This OT class is crazy deep, so I wouldn't hate the idea of trading back to the late teens/early 20's and still getting a Latham/Mims/Morgan and getting back into the 2nd round or just adding additional picks.

However, if the Jets can somehow create a decent amount of cap space and sign 2 capable OTs then I think the pick will be best WR available (probably Odunze) or Bowers. Having an elite TE is such a huge matchup advantage and if it makes you feel better, think of it as us adding an elite WR2 to complement GW because that's absolutely how he should be viewed. Except this WR2 is also a very capable run blocker. I'm not gonna be on here pounding the table for Bowers over the next few months but depending on how the rest of the offseason shakes out, I would definitely be on board with the pick.

    Why do you think that?

If it makes you feel better, view him as a 6'4" 240lbs WR that runs a 4.5 and is a capable run blocker. I think we could do a lot worse than drafting a guy who's combined for 2,500+ yards and 26 TDs in the SEC over the last 3 years.

EDIT: I overlooked the fact that he also has 5 rushing TDs so 31 total TDs over the last 3 years in the SEC.

I could easily see Newton, Turner, Kool-Aid, or Verse jumping into the top 10 with good combines/Pro Days.

I would be shocked if not a single defensive player ends up getting selected in the top 10.

barring any trades. i still think one of the 2 tackles will be there at 10

    pick 1 - CHI / QB
    Pick 2 - WAS / QB
    Pick 3 - NE / QB
Pick 4 - AZ / WR or a Defensive player
pick 5 - LAC / they COULD take a RT not a huge need. they need defense
pick 6 - NYG / they could take a OT but they have andrews and this staff still might want neal to develop and go in another position like WR
pick 7 - TEN / OT here most likely
pick 8 - ATL / no OT here
pick 9 - Chi - no ot here
pick 10 - NYJ Maybe 1 of the 2 COULD be here. for sure the rest would be and one of the very good WR prospects

This is exactly where my head is at. I have heard that Latham is more of a RT. My only concern is, how the hell do we address our atrocious OL? We need major help at both Tackle spots.

Odunze is a stud and would take a huge amount of pressure off of Garrett Wilson.
