Agreed on both of these + Freddie Bishop if he can make the team off of an impressive 11 sack season in the CFL. I'll also be eyeing Amaro and Charone Peake.
I un-liked this so I could like it again. The guy compiled tackle numbers and somehow at the same time managed to not make any tackles?????
These have all been mentioned before but here goes. 1. 3 headed question mark at CB (Milliner, McDougal and Williams) Williams should really come out on top of this but here's to hoping the other two guys show up. 2. Improved speed at the LB position. It's been so long since this team has had a LB core that could both potentially cover TE's and pass rush it's ridiculous. Feeling like the potential is there for our D line to become even beastlier if the opposing O has to actually worry about a blitzing LB or two. 3.The entire pass catching core other than Decker and Marshall. Amaro, Enunwa, Amaro, Peake, Kenbrell(who seemed to start finding himself) J Marsh and Suds (last chance probably). 4. The end of the Captain Shankopotamus era of punting.
I'm really looking forward to seeing a nice booming punt. I'm excited to see Mauldin in year 2 and Enunwa in year 3. Both guys I think can make a big jump.
We have lots of younger players to look out for come preseason play (which should create for an exciting 4 games). QB: Hackenberg: 21 (2nd Rounder, Penn State). Bryce Petty: 25 (Last years 4th Rounder, Baylor). Geno Smith: 25. FB: Tommy Bohanon: 25. WR: Jalin Marshall: 21 (Undrafted Rookie, Ohio State). Charone Peake: 23 (7th Round Rookie, Clemson). Quincy Enenuwa: 24. TE: Jace Amaro: 24. OT: Brandon Shell: 24 (5th Round Rookie, South Carolina). OG: Jarvis Harrison: 24 (Last years 5th rounder, Texas A&M). Brian Winters: 25. Dakota Dozier: 25 (2014's 4th rounder). D-Lineman: Leonard Williams: 22 (Last years 1st Rounder, USC). Sheldon Richardson: 25. Linebackers: Darron Lee: 21 (1st Round Rookie, Ohio State). . Jordan Jenkins: 22 (3rd Round Rookie, Georgia). Lorenzo Mauldin: 23 (Last years 3rd Rounder, Louisville). Cornerbacks: Juston Burris: 23 (4th Round Rookie, NC State). Dee Milliner: 24 Marcus Williams: 25. Dexter McDougle: 25. Safetys: Calvin Pryor: 24. Dion Bailey: 24 (Undrafted 2014, USC). FG Kicker: Ross Martin: 23 (Undrafted Rookie, Duke). Punter: Edwards Lachlan: 24 (7th rounder, Sam Houston State). Just to name a few. All 25 years of age or younger.
A few things i'm looking at 1) QB Does geno show he can be a good back-up or maybe even future starter? Is petty gonna make the cut. If he does where will we be thing for keeping 4 QBs 2) TE Do we have anyone worth a dam. When was the last time we had a decent TE. Probably dustin keller and even he was decent at best 3) WR who makes the cut and how many do we keep? we know marshall, decker and smith are locks. The other 3 spots are open. Thompkins is looking good as is jalin marshall. I really like peake and enunwa was solid for us last year. Should be interesting 4) LBers wanna see what we can do with the young group. 2 rookies and a 2nd year player will all play a lot 5) CB Revis is a lock and skrine is our nickel. Will williams get the 2nd starting job? will milliner stay healthy and show why he was a 1st rounder?
Wow, didn't realize Petty was 25 already. QB's age at a different rate than other positions but it seems like he's behind the curve at this point.
