Most Viable Options For Replacing Jenks Outside Of The Roster Heres my list ( Non-Roster): 1. Trade for Shaun Rodgers ( 2nd Rounder) 2. Trade for Haynesworth ( 2nd Rounder ) 3. Trade for Barry Cofield ( possible 4 or 5th rounder), few may remember but Cofield was almost traded to the Saints back in May but was taken off the trading block. But with the Giants having a stuffed NT rotation with Joseph, Canty, and Bernard at NT the right deal could strike the young kid. 4. Released by the Redskins, Anthony Montgomery could be a solid option. Hes a young and HUGE ( 6'6 330lbs) dude that can play NT and can also move over to 3-4 DE. 5. Damione Lewis , another guy from Carolina who played for the Pats as well and correct me if im wrong but I believe he was released, could serve as a very good backup/rotational Vet. 6. Hollis Thomas, yet another Carolina guy who has some definite age on him (36 yrs old) but he can be used alot at NT , is very solid and doesnt get hurt much. 7. Kendrick Clancy, A former Saints player who played in the 4-3 but can play out there as a good NT but his downfall is like Jenks has Knee problems , worth a look though. Remember this souly a list for NT not 3-4 DE's like Douglas or Green even though they themselves would be solid signings. Please add to this if you feel I have missed someone.
I posted this as a comment previously in the thread but felt like this deserved a thread because it discusses Non-roster moves only and points out a few players that i believe could be serviceable that may not be seen by other posters in a 10 page thread that names few players. But if a mod feels like this should be deleted I completely understand.
Wherever they went with 2nd rounder, more importantly they didn't draft a NT tackle later in draft or last year either....strange....???
Haynesworth wants little to do with the 3 in washington, why would he be any happier here? I really belive our D line is Devito-Phoua-Ellis for now with Ghoulston and Kroul rotation through. Thomas, Pace, and Taylor will see time at end in 4-3 looks. I doubt we trade a pick for a vet D lineman at this point. We didn't last season. Our front 7 was good last night despite the injury. Don't panic.
Most Viable Options For Replacing Jenks Outside Of The Roster No, you felt this deserved it's own thread because you thought you were special.
We should make a move for a NT. Yes we did okay w/o Jenks last season, but we'd be better off making a move then presuming we'll be okay w/what we have.
Rogers at 31 coming off injury for a 2nd!? Max I'd offer is a 6th... anyways... I wonder if there's someone on another team PS worth looking at. We have Tevaseau on ours... Right now our DL is: Pouha, DeVito, Ellis, Kroul, Gholston, Dixon... technically 6 guys is enough, espacially in Rex's D. Plus Pouha, DeVito and Jroul can all play NT. However I wouldn't mind adding a 7th guy just in case...
Haynesworth would probably be the best of the lot but it would be very funny if the Redskins traded him to another 3-4 team (funny unless you are Haynesworth). With that being said, I wouldn't give up a second rounder for any of those bums. Third rounder and a scrub player tops.
i would expect us to be looking very seriously at Hollis Thomas and Kendrick Clancy today. I don't really want to see us trade for a guy although I think shaun rogers could be a monster when motivated to Rex, but not for a second, I would think the most tanny would consider giving up would be a 4, but somehow I doubt Holmgren is desperate to get rid of him...
I don't think either of these two would require a 2nd rounder. I'm ruling out Haynesworth though. I don't care if this guy says he is dedicated and will play NT for the Jets. Do not trust him. Shaun Rodgers is 31, and just got in trouble with the law twice within a few month period. No way he is worth a 2nd rounder. Also he has wanted out of the Browns since 2009. If anything i would give a 4th, and 2011 4th for him.. Or if there are any 'Mangini' guys left on the roster...which I don't see include them...
Haynesworth is a cancer and I would want him no where near the Jets. Our D will be fine without big jenks, its just sad to see him go.
Umm, what does a "lively body" mean? I have never heard of him. can he play NG? Doesn't Minn even play a 4-3?
It means his body isn't dead. He isn't a vegetable. I googled "Lively Body." You get tons of hot Blake Lively photos and this :
No way we should go after Haynesworth for a couple reason 1. He doesnt want to play for our style of defense 2. Who knows if he is in good shape after the problems with the skins 3. All the media he brings we have enough distractions without him added to the mix. I think well be fine with what we have, we will need to get production from gholston now in my opinion.
After some reading up on Haynesworth, is it more that he is disgruntled being in Washington that he openly speaks against not liking/wanting to play in the 3-4, or is it really his hate for the defensive alignment?
Hahaa nah I wanted to find out more names and add to that list . thats really all but the move of the thread is fine , I really dnt mind
