Dude, he's a prospect. How do you know whether he'd be a HUGE upgrade or just an upgrade? Do you have a crystal ball or something that I don't know about? Where can I get one?
Given what we already have, he would have to step in right away and totally dominate. Considering he is a rookie, I'll say the law of percentages are on my side.
Im glad you know what youre talking about(sarcasm). You literally just described Adrian Jones. D'Brick has been an o-linemen since high school, wasnt a TE. Adrian Jones on the other hand is a converted TE. Try to know about the guy youre bashing, at least pretend to know what youre talking about.
Let me get a handle of this, you're saying that we will draft either offense or defense in the draft? NO WAI! In all seriousness, why do you think that we need to draft someone to start right away? It's not like we're poised for a Superbowl run.
So, signing a backup OT means we aren't going to take a phenomenal prospect in that position in the draft? Nice logic.
I'm going to laugh in your face when D'Brick becomes the next Walter Jones, of course who would want that right. Give me a break.
I'd say we need a position filled with a tremendous upgrade (mario) over an upgrade then, which d'brick would be...I don't see Kimo being on the roster in another year, and I don't know of any DE prospects for next year that can be anything close to what Mario is, let alone any worthwhile guys that could play in both a 4-3 and a 3-4.
You do if this is your biggest need. And the Jets need someone to protect the QB, or we will see Kingsbury taking snaps again.
Oh yes, because a player with natural talent at the position, a tremendous with work ethic, very intelligent, and who hasn't yet grown completely into his frame, would be unable to learn better run blocking technique from an NFL coach. NO prospect is perfect, not even Williams. Williams has drawbacks too and negatives (even though some of you think he is a HOF already). If teams didn't draft a prospect because his game isn't perfect, no one would be drafted. By the way Brick has always been a LT, never a TE. In fact he has gained bulk in every year he has been in college. You just described Jones.
If we draft D'Brick GREAT!!! Adrian Jones did a great job last year and I would be happy him starting at LT, but if the Jets think D'Brick is the way to go then who am I to argue. I think this guy will be a great asset to any team, and 4 IMO is not a reach for D'Brick all the top prospects have knocks on them, depending on what you read: Leinart - work ethic, arm strength Bush - can he be as effective in the pro (I think so) Young - can he read D's, will his passing hold up M.Williams - doesn't make any many big plays as he should Cutler - superstar or hype? All i'm saying is no one really knows, D'Brick could be the best of the bunch or may not be, but he's a great prospect and would be welcomed in NY.
An O-Line IS the Offense! No O-line = No Running game No O-line = No time to Pass No O-line = Not being able to sustain drives and control the clock. No O-line = the JETS. Get it? We could have a top QB back there and with no O-line he would get hammered and probably hurt his..... ...Haven't you watched any games!!!???
I still don't understand how anyone could be pissed with Ferguson... News flash! Our offensive line sucks!
