Yeah - we all have way too much fucking time on our hands waiting for this game. I swear my clock is moving backwards!
No one is disagreeing with the the bold but you must already know that. It is a fact. What you don't get is that this fact does not define this season for this team. It's simply a fact. Nothing more. Do I want a post season run? Sure. Who doesn't? This team has already exceeded expectations, including yours. THAT is success. In light of the "facts" it's not total success, but it's success.
I agree with your assessments. I think Marshall is the key to the offense this season, with Powell's & Enunwa's production fueling this 5 game streak. As you say, Marshall isn't going anywhere. But will Powell (FA) still be here ?) I hope so. Does Amaro fit into this offense? Will someone swoop in and offer Fitz a ridiculous package, to steal him away from the Jets? I hope not. I think he needs to be here next year. Also, I agree that they need at least one, if not two lineman. I think there are some good LTs available as FAs. (will we have the cap space?) I know you do some incredible work breaking down game films. Can we turn Brick into a RT? Does he have the skills and physicality to play there? I'd hate to see him go, because he's a team leader. Cro will be gone ( he'll be a cap casualty, saving $9m, IIRC)
Not sure if Brick can be a capable RT. I can't really remember the last time a guy like that made a successful switch to RT, usually they just retire if they lost a step or two. He'd be an upgrade over Breno in pass protection but I don't know how he'd fare against bigger and stronger DE's. He doesn't seem to have the attitude or style or hunger or passion or whatever you want to call it to play RT and be effective there as a run blocker.
que? hes pointing out the holes in his post.. he is asking why he felt one way at one point and now its so completely different. I didn't see it as him busting his balls at all. I thought he brought up very good points. maybe you with the absolutely nothing you just added to the topic should be the stfuing. I agree that this season is a big success at this point. I agree that it would be disappointing to lose this game and not make the playoffs but that wouldn't change the situation of it being a much better season than anyone could have imagined. BUT!!!!!! we have to remember that this was a VERY, let me put more emphasis on that VERY VERY easy schedule and the status quo may not bring the same results in the future.
Thanks, man. I think O12 is just on the edge, like all of us This fucking game can't start fast enough. Snow, wind, Powell is out .... it's agonizing. I just hope we the fans carry all the jitters and our guys are good to go.
I wonder why I would feel differently about a 5-5 team that lost 4 of 5 and a 10-5 team that won five in a row and is competing for a playoff spot?????? WTF is wrong with that??? Situations change in life and so do expectations. Do you think Chiefs fans changed their expectations after a 1-5 start followed by a 9 game win streak? Did the expectations of Packers fans change? How many Panthers fans expected a run at an undefeated season? Were they wrong to be disappointed in last week's loss? How about Cowboys fans? Think their expectations changed? The NFL is not predictable. A lot happens in 17 weeks. Shifting expectations to fluid situations is expected. You tell me you never do that in life and in sports? If you don't change expectations with changing situations in a changing world, you are an idiot. The fortunes of this team changed numerous times between July and this morning.
I hear you. He could be a cap casualty next season. $5m in dead money but $9m saved for 2016, $13m savings in 2017. But there may e some gas left in the tank. Will he restructure? I get the sense that he's a big factor in the locker room.
The only real question is can you even come close to replacing him for $9M? He's got enough left in the tank to figure that's a big hell no. Hope he restructured of course to help out the team, but he's not being cut.
Hey. It's 14-0 and the Jets look like total shit, but I'm thrilled with the prior 10 wins. Happy as a clam. This disaster doesn't bother me in the least.
From the game thread that was closed But but you said this was a successful season. I say the 10 prior wins are meaningless. I've seen this game before and this is crushing. I couldn't give a shit now about the wins over the Pats or the Giants. The Jets spit the bit today and it sucks and this loss blew this season. Completely.
