He has none. Oh except they should have signed a veteran QB…yeah that’s the reason why Zach isn’t doing well right now.

Experience to date shows he can't handle it today, at least with the game plan he has been dealt. Patience with the playcalling and personnel utilization ran out three or four weeks ago and we see square pegs still being hammered into round holes; there's not enough patience in the world to see that continue. Either the pegs or the holes need to change; a bigger hammer won't fix anything.

I mean honestly what personnel changes do you want besides Mims? Carter gets bulk of Carries, want more Ty…GVR? You want Feeney? So LaFleur only gets 5 games? That’s way too early…first year signal caller with a rookie QB…this is a young team like fans have to give them time to work the kinks out and see what works. Just because it’s not on the fans timeline, again it’s the instant gratification thing, why isn’t Zach succeeding! It’s a whole process here…got to be patient, these growing pains should have been expected.

Mims, Moore, more RB work - we haven't really seen enough to see what or who works. Carter's okay but he's not destined for Canton. More tight end involvement. I want to see the OC changing things up trying to find a group and a plan that does not almost automatically result in three-and-out, particularly in the first half. That's the process I want to see instead of staying with a plan that's not working. It's said the difference between a plan and a process is that a plan remains the same and a process is constantly evolving - that's what I'm looking for. What I'm seeing and have little patience for is repetition of that which is not effective.

The five games for LaFleur is a product of your imagination, not anything I have called for but what he's doing is not working. Let's see if they've made any changes in this bye period. Let's see what he's doing go forward, we can put up with growing pains if we see growth, not just more of the same pains.

agreed, but goes against your argument about not blaming ML...I think ML's rookie status is showing through in full colors and know that RS is a close friend so will never call that out in public/to the media...but at some point that won't matter as all the "great practices" and all of the "great play calls" won't make anything unless it turns into production on the field, which is where the games are played and which is where things actually count.

Read it again. La Fleur is the one responsible for the offense - I have criticized him for his lack of accomplishment, but I have never said he only gets three games, five games or nine. Can you not see the difference between blaming him for what he's done, or not done, and calling for him to be fired?

I really don't care at all what any player, coach, ballboy or owner has to say in public about anything going on with their team; it is only in extreme cases that anything we hear that way raises even half an eyebrow - it all gets taken with a mine-full of salt. Kind of like every other business on the face of the earth. Don't you remember there were people here claiming Gase would never be fired because his "best friend" was the GM - right until the day Gase was fired?

The Jets use a lot of 2 TE looks, we just have awful options there. Griffin played 91% of the snaps after Kroft was ruled out, he scares literally no one. Wesco played as the 2nd TE as brown and YeBoah played no offensive snaps.

I like Carter I just feel this run game has had no consistency at all. Johnson may have the game breaking ability but MC is very elusive out there. TBH I’d like to give Ty some more burn with his speed and see what he can do.

When the losing continues cval and mogriff will change their tune to realists and not full time apologists for what we all witness on Sunday's 2021

Rale and Vilma are spot on

The future never got better by just hoping things get better and asking for patience

Seeing is believing ..so show me an improvement please

LaFleur will look better when Wilson looks better not the other way around.

The only thing LaFleur can do to look better right now is to limit the number of plays on which Wilson is the most important factor. If Wilson begins to play better, particularly under pressure, then giving him more plays will not automatically make LaFleur look worse.

I know this sounds strange however I have never seen a team with a poorly performing QB do well overall until the OC limited that QB's contribution to the point where the failures were not shutting everything down on a consistent basis.

The 2009 Jets probably go 6-10 if Brian Schottenheimer kept letting Sanchez throw 30 passes a game. They won 5 out of 6 at the end to make the playoffs because Sanchez was limited to less than 20 passes in all 5 wins.

It's one thing to say you need to put the rookie on the field for him to learn. It's another thing entirely to keep throwing 30+ passes a game and have him destroy the season as Sanchez was doing in 2009 and as Wilson is doing now.

This offense is scoring fewer points and gaining fewer yards than last year's...

    Totally agree.

I don't understand why they put so much on Wilson's plate so early. Maybe he impressed them in camp/pre-seaon to that end but it was clear by the Patriots game that Zach was in over his head. They needed to dial it back then & there.

When you forge a weapon you heat the metal to shape , temper and strengthen it.
If you leave it in the coals too long it burns away to useless slag.

Jeez... that was way too serious...

But you and I are not getting the big bucks to get anything accomplished. We're two weeks away from the trading deadline and there has not been a whisper from Florham Park about tight ends or running backs. Maybe Douglas is holding his cards close to his vest and maybe nobody there is any more interested in wheeling and dealing than they are about tweaking the play calling.

I disagree about consistency - there has been plenty, but not the kind you and I are looking for and that's what LaFleur should be working on now to break out of, either because he got the idea himself or he was directed to shake things up. We'll see next week.

My tune will change when it is deserved. What I see is a young growing team. I see the good not the just the bad. If we see no improvement and we are shit show five games in next year my tune may change. I am not apologist I am a realist you can't blow things up after 5 games and call everyone a bust. Zach was rookie of the week the week before he throws up a clunker now he is a bust. How did Herbert play yesterday. Look at Mahomes going through growing pains when the Chiefs are not dominating.

I have actually played sports and understand things take time.

Well it's going to take 5 games into next year with no improvement to change your mind? Really? Why not over next 11? But that's your choice...

FTMR everyone misquotes me...I said wait till end of this Season before considering change..not 5 games heh

Honestly believe you are a very patient fan ...and yes I have no right to make you do anything

I played Sports too, team and Individual. I held School Records in Swimming.

Just get that I am probably much older than you and way less patient with NYJets

Those who can, play those who can’t, coach .
Besides, he already leads the league in interceptions, you really want favre teaching him about throwing up fun balls?

I am not really young but maybe depending how old you are. We just changed out coaching staff unless JD really thinks he made a wrong hire teh by all means start again I guess. (That sets the team back another 23 years IMO) . Try to find a coach that will come here dumping the staff after a season. That is very extreme measure and unless we see the incompetence of Gase (Gase even got 2 season) the staff will not be fired.

I have patience because I want this team to be good for a long time and competing for championships. It takes time for things to develop. JD could have done what the Patriots did this year and signed a bunch of high priced free agents. That has gotten them one more win than the Jets thus far. The Jets have tried that philosophy several times and it has not worked. The last time it worked was in Bolles first season but then looked what happened.

I would much rather have the team suck then get better then suck and get worse. That is what happening.

I see your point and we are in agreement that too much turnover sux

Don't get me wrong ..I want Saleh to succeed here and was fairly excited at the hire

FTMR I want Wilson to succeed and not get killed out there either

So if RS and LaFleur see that their game plan needs to be changed and then we start to compete , have close games I would be happier. So I am with you to keep a CS that can manage make adjustment and show improvement. That's what we both want to happen Right?

Thus far it's just Gase 2.0 particularly on Offense...unless you have a different set of glasses

You want a repeat of Gase like football for 2 more years..? >>> "suck , get worse or suck get better?"

TBH Between the sucking and getting better or worse I want to see progress..and I hope the GM does too

Lopsided losses and not showing up for the first half is what may continue ...for 2 more years ?? Really? Just to "give them a chance" . The problem is no balance here..way top heavy rookie. OTOH when Tanenbaum loaded up on Free Agents we got to the AFC championship...so it makes you think right? Not saying overpaying guys like Mo Wilk to take a vacation ...but It depends. Mosely has millions on his contract but plays every week like a Pro

Don't forget LaFleur and Saleh do have some NFL experience...it's not a Hall Pass because you a first time HC. However on a positive note there have been some half time adjustments...but it's inconsistent imo . If they become more consistent at doing the right things ..well JD made a good choice,

And I would admire JD to do an honest Evaluation

I posted before the other bottom barrel Team the Browns ejected Freddie Kitchens after one season ..Stefanski came on board with no problem so there will be płenty of candidates lol

So yes ...no panic yet ..no pink slip yet . But 11 more games can be a pretty fair sample

Even Kitchens got more than 5 games but that was a totally different scenario as there was a lot more going on.

So after watching the game tonight, the comps to Josh Allen need to stop--

The Bills might have lost but Allen is an absolute unicorn of a player. Looking at him and Zach are two different species. You can't even compare their development.

Allen has so many different ways to beat you, that Zach wont be able to use while he develops or even when he develops. Allen is bigger, faster stronger and actually has a way stronger arm. The defense has to respect so many different things he does, it doesn't force him to have to thread the needle every play.

Zach is nimble but definitely not a threat to run or take off on the defense. If Zach is going to be good--he's going to have to be Aaron Rodgers--won't have the luxury of being a Herbert. Allen or Lawrence.

And yet Zack Wilson beat the Titans while Josh Allen couldn't.
Your whole theory is therefore invalidated!!!

    Nah... just kidding.

Who's comparing the physical attributes of Zach vs. Josh?
    That would be dumb.

I've read posters talking about giving time to Wilson like Allen got in Buffalo... not that their paths would look the same.
But you're right... Zach won't be able to rely on his size or speed while he figures out the pro game to the degree Josh did.
And that's probably a good thing... he'd get slaughtered out there...

btw... Aaron had a pretty nice running touchdown against the Bears.
