Everybody here who believes what a coach says in a press conference is really what's on his mind, please raise your hand.

Vick was brought in as a vet backup who can step in when needed. I'm not killing Vick because no QB couldve succeeded under these circumstances today. But our issues aren't going to be fixed with a QB change I thought today highlighted that point but I guess not.

More of this type of insight. It's so much better than admitting you are wrong.

No it did. It's obvious that there are more problems than just QB. In a way, I think this is what we needed. A game like this to prove that there at more holes than just at QB.

    Receivers suck.
    Offensive line sucks.
    Defensive backs suck.
    Quarterback sucks.
    Play calling sucks.

Can't hide behind the numbers anymore.

I think it starts at the O line. To have an offense, you need an O line, you have an O line, you can have your QB throw to your receivers, you throw to your receivers, your QB will move the ball. The more you move the ball, the more rest your defense gets. Its a cycle. For some reason the Jets cant do it right

Of course. Teams are built through the trenches. The offensive line was disgusting today. They have had flashes of being very good this year, but today they were completely exposed.

Doesn't take away from the poor QB play, but it does help add to it. There are no excuses, both Geno and Vick were very bad, but they didn't get much help with protection.

All of those reasons are why we as a team needs to stay away from Mariota....... He will be QB#3 that will be ruined buy a total lack of team talent..... And a bunch of dumb ass fans blaming him for losing with a team no one can win with.

Yep. I think the O line was a huge problem for the Jets today and a few other games as well. Geno or Vick were bad like you said but for them to be half decent, the O line needs to block. And when Geno does get blocks, he makes clean passes.

Why not build the O line in the draft and try to sign a FA QB or trade for one? Try to trade for a Matt Barkeley or somebody like a Josh Freeman. Nobody is saying they are the answers but i think the Jets needs to build up the secondary and O line before they throw another rookie QB in there. It will be the same shit

Yeah but that's a tough position. In theory, you are correct. In order for a young QB to grow a team needs the pieces around him. A running game, receivers, and a solid offensive line. But in reality, that just won't happen. If the Jets suck ass for the rest of the season and get a high pick, they have to be thinking about a QB. These high picks don't come often, and they sure as hell won't come often when your offensive line, running backs, and receivers are doing well. So you either make those positions better, lose out on potential QB picks and hope you get another chance at one. Or, you draft another young guy, and fix the issues in the same offseason.

Now obviously all of them can't be solved immediately, but with the money we have, many of the holes can be filled. Idzik just needs to open his pockets.
