He was solid last year. This year he looks like shit. He was a solid route runner and he was able to get open. This year he can't get separation and when he makes a catch he either fumbles it or he drops passes. If Nelson played like he did last year our wide receiver corps would be so much better.
How do you know Vick sucks if he had no time to do anything? That O line is a fuckin joke. No QB in the league can win behind it. Jets should rebuild their O line first
I hear ya, but No, I don't think so... There's a reason why he dropped to the 2nd round and all of the teams ahead of us didn't pick him... Especially since he was ranked so high before the draft.. I personally think that given a chance, Aaron Murray would have a better NFL career than Geno..
Vick was rusty, anyone who has any football knowledge can see that. He did move the ball. Our line sucks, and San Diego never took their foot off the gas with its pass rush. It didn't matter what the score was, they kept blowing our line up. When two mobile Qbs don't have time to pass or can't scramble out of it, that should point to the great big problem with our offense. It isn't Qb! If we had a killer offensive line, and Geno or Vick screw up, then you can blame them. We don't know what we have for offensive talent. We can't seem to find the time to figure it out. It's starting to look like Idzik is our biggest problem for not filling our biggest needs, which is most definitely our pass blocking. Run blocking and pass blocking are two different things. Some of our o-line can run block. Most of them can't pass block, and the two who can are losing their ability due to age, injury, and maybe desire. It never looks good when we try to pass. Penalties, terrible positioning, terrible technique, etc... I hate to say it but our season is dead unless Marty figures out a way to pass without any pass blocking.
Hard to be a successful QB when you get hit before you finish your dropback and your WRs are too slow to get open.
I don't understand why people don't get this. Putting Michael Vick in at QB isn't just about the possibility of saving the season, making the playoffs, etc. What's getting lost, is that it's also about taking a young player in Geno Smith, and removing him from the game so he stops REGRESSING. Geno isn't getting any better by playing these games and getting exposed. And he might not be the answer at all, but the best thing for him right now in what very well might be a lost season, is for him to watch another QB play for a while, and then come back in.
Why are all the guys who were so sure the problem was Smith blaming the second half on the supporting cast rather than Vick?
Wtf? Vick comes in the game in the third quarter and doesn't do much because of the offensive line and being ice cold and now we should say he's not the answer? Give him a week to prepare for a damn game, like every other QB in the NFL, and see what he does. You wanna jump to the conclusion that he's not any better because of one half of football? You do realize he was sitting on the bench the entire first half with no thought of entering the game.
If he was watching that first half and still had "no thought of entering the game" he doesn't even belong in the stadium.
No, he's playing for a guy who keeps preaching that Geno is the answer and he's our guy no matter what.
I wouldn't say Vick moved the ball. Compared to Geno when there was no offense Yes. But the O did nothing with him until the end of the game when the Chargers had a 31 point lead and their defense played back. It was no big accomplishment.
Please don't. You are already a joke on this board. Wait...please do. In fact, never stop. Your posts are never ending comedy. Keep going. Do it!!!
