Yeah, that's the question..to keep others out or cause them to overpay. The reality is the Jets would have the easiest time of the 4 rumored teams to pull off a deal, even better than Cleveland I think because their two picks will not get them a player as good as #6 will.

But to put MM in the same sentence as Andrew Luck tells more on how much lees you have watched NFL football than me. Luck is a once in a decade franchise QB. Mariotta is not. Maybe in the right system Mariotta can excel...ah but don't take my 'know nothing about the game' opinion. Watch or read it your self from others with the same opinions
If you think the Jets are going to draft up to #2 to draft Mariotta, would liek to have what your smoking. Show us where Mac says/states that's the case?
all smoke screen fodder. doesn't mean anything unless he's sitting at #6 - which allows for the Jets to listen to all offers.
Any offer better include a first next year because if you pass on him and smith continues to suck and mariota becomes a star you had better have the ammo to move up high in the first next year or start looking for another job.

Assuming a Jets trade, lol.. maybe but I don't expect the Jets to take MM at #2 if their giving away the house for it.
I don't even see Mariotta dropping to #6 anyway. And, even less likely, the Jets trading up to #2 for HIM....for another payer, yes - and they are reports today that indicates the Jets are one of 3-4 teams looking to do so.
