I do think Mac gets a pass, and I'll tell you why, player development. When a HC is stuck in the 80 and 90s in his approach to football, and reflects it in his way of coaching it makes everyone look bad, the players and the FO. The fact that TB had to replace his whole CS with the exception of KR speaks volumes of who is the weak link in this organization. I have no problem with Mac being fired if his drafts don't pan out, we will see what happens this year.
Does it anger you to see that Toilet has gotten two passes now? He got to blame his rookie coaching season and all the woes with Special Teams on the coordinator. Now he gets to purge most of his CS in favor of different guys because last season was so horrible. Yet, Toilet gets to keep his job and point the dirty end of the stick at his subordinates? That's the way I feel about what Toilet has done since he's been in NY? Like somehow he's deserving of getting extra chances whereas no other HC has ever gotten this many favors?
You're probably right, but if Glennon is going to get $15 million, it would be absolutely freaking nuts to sign him. IMO that leaves Mac with Geno, Hoyer and Josh McCown. Even if Foles is available, if Glennon's getting $15 million, Foles would get $20-$25 million. I would hate having Geno back, but if he was back, it would almost guarantee that Petty or Hack would be the starter.
No, I don't get angry, frustrated maybe, but I can understand why Woody has made this decision. I see the forest from the trees, his body of work is based on 2 years, one good, one bad, give him a 3rd and see if he can coach up the young players. Bowles might have learned something in the past 2 years, I don't know, but this year we will see if he has. No sense in losing our minds about it, just go with the flow of the off season and see if TB can put the puzzle together after this off season.
Odd that you cite this example, because the 2017 NFL MVP also did exactly that on the biggest stage in the game... Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
I say we have an gritty godforsaken 2017 and deny deny but tank the whole enterprise Do it with the cheapest scrub Vet QB or Petty or Hack or a newbie ...I just don't care Its the only way out for a legit FQB in 2018 Wishes will be granted with Geno S ...just my luck
See thats a good point and important too.....the schmuck QB we bring in to run the show while Petty and Hack duke it out can't start any QB controversy. When it pettys time or hacks time, the new dude gotta sit own an shut up. his time here is done.
Not a chance in hell Foles gets a contract for $20 million. Additionally, Glennon will be getting paid much more than Foles.
I really don't know how anyone could possibly respect Toilet? We, as fans, already do not respect him because we think he sucks as a HC. But HOW does he manage to get players motivated to play for him in 2017? You know, it's one thing to say I made a bad hire. Like when Toilet fired his ST coordinator after the 2015 campaign. He got to lay all of the blame for the Special Teams at the feet of the coordinator. He got to say to Woody and the world, "Here's your culprit, as to why the Jets ST sucked in 2015." He then proceeded to fire him and hire another guy. I get a HC admitting he made a mistake in hiring a certain guy that didn't work out. However, now after two seasons he's been firing MANY more of his subordinates and Jets fans just let that go as well? In other words, two seasons in and still things suck, so he decides to find others to throw under the bus? WHERE is the outrage that this jerk off Toilet gets to blame everybody else for his own failures? Why does this guy get so many get out of Jail free cards? I do not understand why this is not being talked about much more? Is it that Jets fans actually condone what he's doing? Jets fans actually think it's OK for Enron executives to persuade everyone to buy Enron stock and then when all the corruption fell, the executives had already sold all their stock and made a shit ton of money while the rank in file was left holding the bag, penniless? To me, what Toilet is getting away with is quite similar to Enron? I must say if Jets fans are OK with this outrage, then I cannot say I identify with Jets fans?
After reading your post, it's clear your outrage is way overblown. I don't think you can identify with many Jets fans because, as foolish as some of us may be, that post was absurd.
Why? Foles had a very good year in Philly playing at a much higher level than Glennon ever did, has played more games over more years, and Glennon hasn't played in 2 years.
I find your posts to be invigorating and refreshing. Nothing like some good ol' outrage to harkon back to my roots and memories of a better day. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
Because teams have already seen Foles in a bonafide starting role. He had an unbelievable year in 2013 but has regressed tremendously since. So much that he is not even a starting QB anymore. I'm fairly certain he signed a two year/10 million dollar contract with the Chiefs and they did not pick up the 2nd year option. Why would he get 4x his salary after being a back up a year after his contract with the Chiefs? Glennon was decent when he started on terrible teams. Teams want to see what he can do moving forward. Mike Glennon is the highest touted FA QB currently. I would prefer Glennon over Foles, but not for the price. Foles is definitely more preferred. However, Glennon will get 15 million, while Foles gets 10 million at most.
You're probably right, but I think that's a mistake. Foles has shown that he's capable of playing at a high level. Glennon never has. Foles is more mobile I believe and Glennon is a statue. IMO the only thing going for Glennon is that he's a year younger than Foles. The only reason I ever wanted him is that he's had some starting experience and would be easier for Petty or Hack to beat out.
