Well, give a few more cents and back up your points intelligently or you're not going to last long. People, stop whining about Stanton. We wasted a small amount of the cap on Stanton if we end up cutting him. Tebow wasn't available last week. Yesterday, he was. Circumstances changed. You don't make personnel moves based on what may or may not happen in Denver. The Jets needed a backup QB, they got Stanton. Then Tebow became available, and they wanted to bring him in for the Wildcat and for the hype, so they did that. Stanton is a casualty in the process. This was a unique situation.
only way id cut him is if he repaid the bonus back otherwise id keep him and set him free on cut day no reason to let him go especially when other teams were vying for his services
Tebow being available looked like a big possibility for weeks now, so it wasn't something that just came about yesterday. smart decision making is made by considering all possibilities, not simply what is known at that moment. there is nothing unique about this situation; in life and business we all have to make decisions, and many times based on considering multiple possibilities that may or may not come to fruition. the person who is able to consider all possibilities and make the right decision is a smart decision maker. the person who is not capable of doing so is a bad decision maker. saying it wasn't know to be a certainty doesn't eliminate the fact that it was known to be a realistic possibility, and ignoring something that is a realistic possibility because it isn't a certainty is bad decision making.
And another 'small' amount on paying off Tebow's contract to Denver. So basically when it's all said and done, Tebow's costing like $3.5 million or so under the cap including what we paid to Denver, and then add in whatever we have to lose on Stanton. It'll be close to five million for a backup QB who can't QB and we didn't have a lot under the cap to begin with.
Drew Stanton of all people is wanting out?? Thanks for the laugh Drew. Seriously how is Drew Stanton in a position to be angry to the front office, especially when hes hardly been here... Whatever happened to believing in your abilities and winning the Job like a man? I guess this Tebow signing is a good thing because it shows what a little bitch Stanton is and how we'd never want him to see the field anyway.
Stanton is in this position because that Jets put him there. How did winning the job work out for Brady Quinn last year?
Please. Stanton's right, he would never be the backup QB with Tebow here no matter how well he played in camp. It's not him not believing in his abilities, it's him being a realist.
The Jets forced him to sign a contract that pays him over a Million dollars this season? My guess is REX held him down while Tannenbaum moved his wrist... Oh and the answer is easy about Brady Quinn - he didnt win the job because he sucks.
Hate to say it, but Tebow fans are now "Jet Fans". We gotta get used to it. We should have thrown Stanton in the Tebow deal in lieu of the 7th rounder. Just GTFU and shut up. Or can we not trade him because he was signed so recently?
Really you think if he looked and like played like Tom Brady during camp he wouldnt see the field? If he was being a realist he would STFU and realize he's a backup QB that is probably half way out of the league anyway....
Stanton is much better off taking that 1.25 mil and being 3rd this year and then leaving when the year is over. I haven't heard he has actually asked out yet..maybe a bolt hit him in the head and he figured this out.
