He won't be fired. Woody will give him a chance to bring in his own coach so expect at least 3 to 4 more years of the Idzik Experience.
I may have stretched it at far more. CJ looks OK when used correctly, which he wasn't much early on as many on here have said. Not the CJ1k of old, but more than useful in rotation. Last year Kerley was our best receiver by far, he's not this year. And Kerley missed a few games as well so I don't think Decker's injury has much relevance if you're comparing back to last year. And Amaro has looked encouraging for a rookie. He certainly hasn't done less than KW3 did. The offense has more weapons this year than last without doubt. I'd tend to go along with Br4d's post, but say that Geno looked improved in pre-season, hit an 80% completion rate against the Raiders and we put 21 points on the Packers in no time. That was always going to buy him a little time and one bad game, which he duly had at the Chargers. That was probably the time to make the change to Vick.
Part of me feels Woody will cave to fan pressure and poor ticket sales and fire Idzik, but i'd say it's 60% he does. The thing is, Woody really has an out if he does. He doesn't really have to take blame for the hiring in the first place since he can say he went on the recommendation of that firm he hired to conduct the search.
The Jets main problems this year has been secondary and Geno. Yes I am a Geno fan but he has sucked this year. Now with that said I think we need to bring in a true #1 wideout and get better on OL. I'm not going to say Geno going to be a great QB but I would like to see what he can do with some weapons. Sanchez is doing pretty good in Phily because he got weapons around him. Plus Geno is still to young to give up on him. IMO.
The best thing Geno had going for him was that he wasn't Mark Sanchez when Mark Sanchez made hating cool. That is gone.
Please. Rex needs to go. He is a brilliant defensive mind but a bad head coach. Fire him at the end of the season. Not a day later.
So we are looking at a high pick next draft which will most likely by a QB, We will also be looking at a new coaching staff and whoever else gets the shaft ( should be everyone ) and also we have some money to spend. So there is no need to really write about what this team needs we all watched the season. BUT with a new QB and coaching staff and expectations will be low and in turn we will most likely be picking high again the following year. With these two years of high draft picks and the money this team can really turn things around faster then most are saying.
Geno has no weapons?Eric Decker,Kerley,Percy Harvin,Jace Amaro,Chris Johnson,Chris Ivory,Geno Smith is trash on the highest level. Those are better weapons then Any that Mark Sanchez had
I don't see how Idzik gets fired. What he says to the public aside, I don't think the intent was ever to win in 2014. I think maybe - best case scenario - Idzik expected the Jets to at least show promise on offense, hence putting us out the field with no secondary. But the total lack of progress made by Geno Smith must have been a real stunner that's going to set the Idzik "plan" back a year.
Jace Amaro isn't up to speed enough to be called a weapon, but otherwise I mostly agree. Sanchez had the better O-Line, but the skill positions are similar.
I am fully behind firing Idzik, I think it needs to happen. But where is the same outcry for Rex? lol putting up billboards and handing out towels for Idzik to be fired but Rex just gets people laughing at him? Should be making signs that ask Woody Johnson to sell the team.
I don't Woody has the balls to fire both his GM and his coach. I think he'll fire Rex and give Idzik at least one more year. That being said I think the firing of Rex is a HUGE personnel upgrade--You can't convince me that Rex wasn't calling the shots when the jets drafted Millner, Richardson and Pryor #
I think all those were JI's BPA's. Pryor was a guy idzik really liked if i remember reading correctly, HE told REX about him, not the other way around…supposedly.
I have a word that best describes Mike Vick this year and it's "indifferent." I can handle a lot of things...indifferent is not one of them. Vick is getting paid, quite handsomely I might add, to play with fire and passion. Of which I have seen none. I am pretty confident he took himself out of the game on Monday and that is not what I want out of ANY quarterback on my team. Give me a guy like Big Ben who you have to carry of the field. Vick is here for the pay day and that's it. I hope he has no intention of playing next year because what he has on tape is disheartening. Just sad...the whole damn year. They really need to clean house. I know it's been said before but everyone has got to go...that guy's "penalty flag" towel is spot on everyone on that rag has got to go. It's really easy...Woody has to do only one thing and that's to hire one damn decent football guy to right this ship. Period!!!
No. I don't think so. Most GM'S are given more time than two years to prove they stink. And Woody doesn't want to admit that his decision, I mean, his lawyers decision, is wrong.
What has CJ done this season? Decker was hurt most of the time when Geno started the season. Amaro hasn't done shit this season. He only played 1 game and 3 series with Harvin. Plus let keep it real what has Harvin done as a wideout with any team? Kerley is ok but he doesn't scare anybody. I will agree with Ivory.
I normally am opposed to firing a GM after 2 years. And Woody did him a terrible disservice by not letting him shitcan Bradway and Rex. But things have gone off the rails, it seems. Now we read about Rex wanting to fire MM. (I thought Rex said he was responsible for the O? He never fired Schotty?) And when things go off the rails, it is time for a new conductor.
