If this team has to go get prime free agents to fill holes every year, well that's where we've been the last decade and a half. What has it gotten us?

No He won't but he needs to be.

Rex needs to pick the next GM.

Rex has delivered more than any Jets HC not named Weeb, and that list included Parcells.

Rex needs to pick the airline he's gonna take the day he's fired.Sorry dude but if Tom Coughlins gonna get fired and he won two Superbowls then after four years of missing the playoffs Rex deserves the same fate regardless of the 6 playoff games and two AFC title appearances. Those were light years ago,I think Rex is a good coach but I think this situation has worn itself out ,I was always a Rex guy but I have zero faith in him at this point and its not because I don't think hes a good coach its because its time for a change this situation with him and Idzik is a mess that was destined to fail from day one

I was answering the question of whether I thought idzik would be fired. Not whether I think he should be.

I just don't see woody leaving himself all alone to start from scratch. He needs someone there whispering in his ear like Wormtongue.

I've been a RBNY fan, but I like how NYCFC has embraced the city in a way RB never really did. RB feels almost more like a NJ team to me now. Plus, Lampard and Villa? Cmon.

RB has been a tough team to root for. The name. The losing. I already am a Jets fan, and a Spurs fan. Enough already!

    Bullshit.

    Rex's tattooed QB....is what..

    WINNING>

    3 consecutive 300 yard games...then a fourth win.

    Oh wait ...ITS THE SYSTEM..

Well, no shit sherlock, schotty needed gone a long time ago. Thats on Tanny,

But Idizk played the easy card, make the media moves. Cut TANNYS big contracts, look good,

Forget that Sanchez costs less then Vick this year, abd is better than Vick or Smith, and that Cro, is playing for 3 mil.

    Dude,

That article, is the reason behind Rex's saying "I want to be on TV, when fired"

Rex is really saying....I want to stay in NY..

note the Coughlin aspect in that article.

Cogs will keep his job, two rings says so...Fewell...not so much.

If I was Rex I'd want to go somewhere where the QB wasn't an epic turnover machine for once

Every team have those games every year that they should had lost but won. You forgot to say this year OL is a lot worse then last season. Yes we added Vick but he the backup thinks to dumb ass Idzik. Plus I notice you didn't say anything about Geno? He playing a lot worse then last season. I think the Jets finish 5-11. I look for them to beat Vikes,Titans,Fins.

He will not be fired because Woody doesn't watch the games. He just goes there to mingle.

Is the OL worse? If it is it's very marginal. It was pretty bad last year and is pretty bad this year. 4 of 5 linemen were the same until Winters was IRed anyway. If Geno is playing worse, who's fault is that? He's got far more talent around him this year. That's got to be on the coaching staff. This year had to be all about finding out if Geno could make the step up. He had to be the de-facto starter if he showed anything in camp - and most reports suggested that Geno was comfortably better than Vick in camp and pre-season anyway. The team has quit, I think we'll be lucky to win 2 games from here, let alone 3.

How much more talent does he have around him? Decker? CJ? Decker was hurt most of the time before Geno got benched. CJ hasn't look that good at all.

The thing that put this season down was the inability of the CS/FO to get a good read on Geno after the first quarter of the season. He was costing the Jets at least a TD a game at that point and had directly contributed to all 3 losses but somehow the move to Vick just never materialized.

I'm guessing that Vick didn't look all that good in the off-season/pre-season process and that the Jets didn't think they were going to get a boost out of starting him over Geno. Then the bottom fell out and they had to make the move but it was too late to save the season and Vick looked unprepared in a couple of the opportunities he did get so the Jets switched back to Geno because they had no other moves left to make.

It's hard to see where they could have done much different in the off-season unless they were prepared to just move on from Geno at that point. They could have drafted a QB in the 2014 draft but none of those guys looked like a sure thing and none of them do now either.

Go read the Minny reporters and see what they think of Bridgewater. They're all cautiously optimistic about him but none of them are putting the mantle of franchise QB on him yet. That's because he doesn't have a great arm and he doesn't make great throws and it's unclear if he ever will.

I expect Rex's defense to feast on him, even depleted as it is.

As I have said before, I was out of the country and missed Geno's "good games" at the end of last year. But I wonder. Production on the field is what counts of course, but there must also have been signs of improvement in meetings and at practices at the end of last year. Were those signs apparent this year in pre season and through the early games? They should have seen that improvement in this year's meetings and practices. Hard to believe that they did, judging by his performances. But still they did nothing. And I think you have a point about Vick. The coaching staff has detected something in Vick they do not like. He does not seem invested when he comes into these games. He played hard agains Pitt. I will give him that. But he has been meh against everyone else.
