They should just go ahead and cut him now. No sense letting him continue to show the younger guys how not to go about their business.
Yeah, me too. I was always confused why they weren't giving him an extension back when that negotiation seemed to be taking forever. Now we know why. Should have just gotten what they could for him in a trade and moved on.
Too cap prohibitive. I would rather deactivate him and make him a healthy scratch for the next four games but they won't. But, again Bowles preaches accountability and this dude has been missing meeting all season, when does it stop? When does Bowles say enough is enough you're being benched?
upsetting news, Mo was my favorite player on this team. Fans like myself, just wanted to see him get another chance, obviously blowing it. Time to move on and cut this guy at the end of the season.
Local boy isn’t gonna be local after this.We Jets folk don’t kindly to lack of commitment to the team. This guy has zero credibility & the jig is up.He literally got the big deal & soon as things got tough decided he didn’t care anymore. I do think someone will give him another shot just like With Dana Stubblefield & Albert Haynesworth.Actually wouldn’t be surprised if he got a pretty decent deal to boot.
Wonder wtf the problem is? I was worried he had a bug up his ass about something going back a while and still think he's disgruntled about something...something with politics or the NFL. Tough guy to read. Hope he makes a statement and commits to his teammates and coaches with his actions
He definitely will get another chance. Belichick will sign him in a heartbeat, and I guarantee he'll give the Pats the effort he should have given the Jets after they gave him that monster contract.
Whoa! If that's true, then both Wilkerson and Bowles should be gone for tolerating it this long. To hell with both of them. We can definitely forget about getting anything for Wilk now. Part of me thinks cut his ass the second the season ends, but that would give him the whole offseason to negotiate a new deal with a new team. Just to pay the bitch back, keep him and cut him when it will make it the hardest on him to find a new team and get a good deal. Eff him!
based on another hughes tweet, sounds like mo had been fined for the prior missed/late to meetings up to 12k per fine and the benching came for the latest. bye mo
Is this what he is all about? Wasn't he supposed to be the face of this franchise? [Obviously that's not the case.] He can't fuck off fast enough.
Which is a very shitty way of conducting a disciplinary policy. How many times are you going to fine someone for being late? I would have done a 3 strike policy, first time you sit out a quarter and are fined, second time you're fined a larger sum and benched a half, 3rd time you're going to be benched an entire game if not worse and may even be suspended from the team. Wilkerson doesn't belong on this team anymore
Per Brian Costello: Todd Bowles announces Muhammad Wilkerson won't make the trip. Not injury related. A coaching decision Finally, Bowles decides to make Wilkerson inactive
Pretty much Bowles is suspending Wilkerson and when pressed to comment on the suspension he said I'm worried about the players I'm coaching not those who I'm not coaching. Wilkerson should be made inactive for the rest of the season and dump him the moment the season ends. He is a cancer for this team
