My dream scenario is trading Mo and our 4th for Keap and their first ... :)

not mine because unless that happens like tomorrow... we'll be stuck with Fitz's new contract and Kaep's dumb ass franchise QB contract.. i'd love that 7th pick though.

but then SF will be assed out of a QB.

This is assuming SF even wants Kap and they value any QB at the top of the draft.

I read the Jets value Richardson more than Wilkerson. What in the world?

me too.. can't lie i'm guilty of saying Rich > Mo after 2014, then Mo > Rich after 2015. It's really hard to tell. Sheldon is younger and more versatile.. but Mo seems to be more of a sack artist.

Jets aren't getting a first for Mo. Too bad we fooled the Bucs already once. If they are going to trade Mo, I guess fans will have to deal with a 2nd rounder and a 4th at best.

If this is true, they shouldn't even consider trading him. If Revis could go for the #13 overall, then Wilkerson should get similar compensation or they shouldn't move him.

8-8 actually sounds about right to me (depending on how FA and draft go)but I fail to see how trading Wilkerson for picks translates to more wins unless the Jets hit huge on the picks (which is usually a crapshoot).

Well if you're content having a very good run defense, and Keeping most of the pieces on the defense line. At the expense of sacrificing other positions on the team, and not being able to upgrade the weak position.

If that wasn't good enough to make the playoffs against a weak schedule, than what chance do they have this year, playing a much tougher schedule.
What's more important saying we have Muhammad Wilkerson and that defense line, or we have a team that can win a championship.

As the team constructed now, that championship isn't happening anytime soon.

I have a feeling Mo stays and we figure it out. We should have never brought Mevi$ back. Fuck that guy.

It hasn't as much to do with picks , but building a real defense that fits the defense you want to run. ( that 15.7 million can go to adding pieces in Fa that will make this defense better). Isn't it kind of silly to try to get all your defense line talent on the field at once, that you try and play a player out of position( See Coples / Sheldon Richardson at Olb- square peg trying to fit in a round hole).

The Jets without Wilkerson aren't sacrificing that much on the defense line( s Richardson , and Leonard Williams).

Yeah, the market for Mo isn't as hot as Mo imagined it to be it appears. They cannot keep Mo under that cap figure, so if they really need the cash, it maybe best to take the best offer and move on.

It's sad I know, but that looks to be reality right now. Hopefully a deal gets done. If we trade Mo, we won't be happy with the results.

    Absolutely false.

Sheldon Richardson - upcoming suspension, 1 toke away from a year long suspension, still needs to show his rookie form [and be BETTER then that]
Leonard Williams - Still needs to refine his pass-rush game, he is still a complete work in progress still [but has made strides].

W/out Mo, our pass-rush would be complete shit. You are going off strictly potential at this point. Potential will get you in trouble.

The Jaguars are the perfect example of a team that has been trying to get off of it's knees forever, that has a high 1st round pick and a ton of cap space.

If you are their GM at this point you have to be ready to trade that 1st round pick for a proven performer in his prime. If you miss on the pick, and top 10 picks are a crapshoot, you are still on your knees and your QB and LT are a year older and the fans are screaming because 5-11 or worse every year is just not cutting it with London looming in the near distance.

Mo Wilkerson would be a godsend for the Jaguars and their fans if all they had to give up was their 1st round pick and $16M of their $78M in cap space. They could even frontload the deal with that much cap space and not feel the burn from signing him through the length of the contract.

By trading Mo, the Jets would free up $15.7 million in cap space. They'd have money to address some of their needs/holes in FA (and maybe sign an Osemele or Trevathan or Lamar Miller) or for certain would be able to retain Snacks and Fitz. I expect Mac to have a good draft and the players to contribute. Let's say that we get a 2nd and 4th round pick for Mo. We'd then have 8 draft picks, 6 of them in the first 4 rounds. It would be difficult not to come away with a better team. Out of the draft we could come away with a future LT in Spriggs who could play RT this seasons, a pass rushing OLB, a good RB prospect with speed and good hands, another WR who could return kicks and/or punts, an ILB, an OG, Hackett (the best punter), and a safety/LB hybrid who could possibly function in the Deon Bucannon role in Bowles' defense and be a STs demon. You don't think that would lead to more wins?

First off the Jaguars will have Dante Fowler back this year( that's like having another number 1 draft choice). They have the fifth pick and could come away with Joey Bosa/ Buckner ( any pass rusher they want). The combination of Bosa/ Buckner and Fowler is pretty good De duo coming off the corner. Tyson Alualu and Roy Miller inside isn't a bad defense line.

The Jaguars need to upgrade their lb and the CB position . ( that is where there big money should be thrown at) . Those cb's prices can be very expensive.

Sure I know you want to find a reason why the Jaguars might trade the fifth pick in the draft for Wilkerson. It isn't happening, and there is good chance Wilkerson plays under the tag all year.

I agree. Just don't understand how they could say this when Sheldon isn't racking in the sacks and has off the field trouble.
