Nah- GB Total yards- 237, 156 Passing yards, 4.6 yards per pass. 81 Rushing yards, YPC. 3rd down- 2-14 NYJ Total yards- 360, 241 Passing yards, 6.3 yards per pass. 119 Rushing yards, 4.1 YPC. 3rd down-7-17, and we had about 3 minutes more of TOP. Each defense had 2 sacks for about the same yardage. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE was the 3 BS turnovers in GB territory. This was Rodgers' lowest passer rating against a team this year BY FAR at 59.7, lowest completion percentage by far at 44.1%, and his ONLY non TD game. So tell me how they outplayed us please?? The refs took a block a cheese and rammed it up our asses.
To answer this thread, we are fine, this was a good loss IMO. Out of conference, gives the team some fire going forward and we are 3-0 in the division. I honestly think we'll sweep the division this year. If we win the rest of our games till we meet the Pats again and so do they, we beat them and we're in first. The Pats have the Steelers and the Colts before we play them again, they will not win both of those games.
Why would you want a wild card spot when you can take the division title or even the conference title.
Who cares what the total yards were? we were SHUT OUT. The GB D easily won the matchup against our O and their STs were better, that's 2 of the 3 phases. Our D was better than their O but that was only 1 of 3 phases. I'm not quite sure where the argument against that is when we scored zero points?
I guess you're missing the point here. My argument is none of those were turnovers, none. In terms of playing, and being outplayed all of those stats matter it's part of Playing the game. My argument is that the refs handed this game to GB on a silver platter. Like I said earlier all of those TO's were in GB territory and were devastating for our offense, they all felt ripped off. The first 2 were challenged, and the third 1 would've been if the refs got the first 2 right.
I agree on the INts but the Smith play was clearly a fumble. regardless of those plays, they shut us out. if we had 9 turnovers we shouldn't have been shut out.
Agree to disagree then. We beat ourselves, GB didn't beat us. If we catch those balls, make easy FG's, it's a completely different game. In reality it was 6-0 with us being forced to give them 3. GB did not cause those drops, did not cause the missed FG, it was us playing sloppy. When were down 6-0, if our D would've scored what would you have said in the end if we won 7-6? With all the stats being the same, besides 1 TO obviously.
The sky isn't falling. While Sanchez is throwing into suspect areas and getting picked he makes up for it with some great throws. The wide receivers were worse than he was yesterday and should get raked over the coals this week. Sanchez made up for his let downs and Cotch and Holmes blew about six big time plays that could have won the game. McCraphands flashed through my head at one point. These guys let Mark down. Plenty of season to go.
The Jets are 5-2 when was the last time they were 5-2. Seven games down and nine games still to play. Why in the world are we even talking playoffs? There is so much football to be played. The Jets will lose again in the regular season that is reality. This is a good loss which will allow them to pull their heads out regroup and start rolling. Maybe it was the five game winning streak and everybody in the media saying they were the best team in football who knows. They had a tough loss to the ravens to start the season then looked a lot better in the next five. Other teams do game plan for the Jets they just don't say "Well we are playing the Jets Sun. lets take the week off we can't win" The other team gets paid as well. Just enjoy the 5-2 record you can't win them all. The playoffs are so far off we should not even worry about them right now. Last year we thought there was no way we were going to be in the playoffs and, when we had favre we thought the playoffs were a lock. Lets just watch the Jets destroy the lions on Sun.
Wow! I see a team that is only a half game out of first with a rematch later this year. Damn, one week doesn't make a season.
AMEN! ... and thank you for being resonable. Sometimes the over-reaction on this board is so hard to take I think my brain is going to bleed. Just for the record ... we were trying to win our 6th straight game yesterday. As a point of reference ... I believe the Giants, who are a well coached team, have had one 6 game winning streak under Coughlin's tenure. Its not easy to do people. I expect to start another winning streak next week, and win this division at no worse than 12-4.
My whole point is that New England continues to take care of teams week after week with half the talent we have. New England was supposed to be in a rebuilding stage this year, and they are in first place through 7 games. If we don't win the division this year, it is a total embarassment. On another note, Rex needs to shut up with the rest of the team about how good they are and back it up on a weekly basis. The fact that they got shut out in there own stadium, with two weeks to prepare is a joke. All I am saying is that New England will find a way to go 12-4 this year, which means we can't afford these shitty performances anymore. Also, if New England happens to beat us next time around we can pretty much forget winning the division.
