a RTaway from an elite OL? come on.

They ahd a run game and a D AFTER they starte d0-7 and the season was over. They also will have a new defvensive scheme and you can't count on reggie Bush to be an every down back, he had a good year last year(mostly after the season was lost) but you can't build an O around reggie being your #1 RB

I doubt he can even play anymore, thus I doubt he'll get all these suitors anyway. Not only is he going to have to be able to take a hit but I'm willing to bet his arm strength will be seriously deficient in his return.

If he does play I think we'll see alot of throws where his mind is right but they will look like terrible decisions because his arm just wont be there. I'm talking about the 3rd and 11 deep corner throws that will be eaten up by NFL DBs.

He should really do himself a favor and retire. He will make a great Offensive Coordinator or Head Coach someday though.

I just listed the top 4 teams that Schefty said were the only true options. Whether they are or not I just outlined that off of the NFL insider's picks.

Everyone keeps saying the Cards and yeah they have Fitz but that D got torched several times last year, I really dont think they're that good.

What I find so surprizing is why people (as a fan) wouldn't want Peyton Manning!

Thats just asinine! Asiten, asielven, asitwelve...

Peyton will retire as a Colt today. That is the only place he wanted to play.

Colombo was every bit as horrible as Hunter was.

Like it or not (and I don't), they get a real RT in some capacity and Pouncey continues to develop, their OL is absolutely on track to be one of the best in the NFL.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is..if you can't throw long and he can't then the defense stacks the box and you also can't run which they couldn't. With all the problems you portend the Jets had I am sure there are probably 20 QBs in the league right now that would have thrown long better than Sanchez did.

The Jets haven't had an elite defense since '09.

Even with Peyton Manning, the Jets would still not even win the AFCE.

    play calling

A lot of that was on Schotty, Sanchez doesn't call the plays. There was nobody going downfield anyway. Given Schotty's play calls and the state of the o-line, I don't see how anybody could say Sanchez was a disaster last year. ESPN and the fools at the Daily News and NY Post push these crazy ideas, but at the end of the day he's a decent QB with an upside and Manning is a huge risk.

I still think it's apples and oranges to compare it to the Favre situation. People forget the Jets were heading to the playoffs and then Favre got injured. There was that absolutely glorious defeat of hated New England along the way. Unless one wants to say Manning will also get injured, how is this comparable?

"young QB with potential" - heh. Potential to maybe break the top twenty Qb's this coming season? Maybe.

    NE doesn't know defense

It's been elite every year Rex has been here. What would a Patriots fan know about defense anyway? Edelman would never start on the Jets, or any other team.

We're already in the midst of turnover in the offense. Peyton's greatest strength, which is the cerebral aspect of the game, won't be butting heads against an established system. Sparano can focus on his man blocking scheme and the running game.

Peyton would choose to come here because we can pay him about 11 cents a game.

Seriously, I'm not sure that Miami isn't just as ready for success. They did go 6-3 down the stretch. And, it actually makes sense there:
no QB, warm weather, solid WR corps, they are going through turnover too, market is less likely to be stressful as Peyton winds down his career

They have a high pick which could be spent on a pass rush, but maybe they choose to solidfy the O-Line with one of the bonified studs there, or maybe they go Trent Richardson and have a ton of playmakers for Peyton to work with

Also, Peyton doesn't strike me as the type of player to not want to play Tom Brady or some other team. I'm willing to bet his favorite games are the rivalry he has built with the Patriots over the years. If he DOES come back, he is going to want to prove to himself and the world that he is still the same Peyton, he won't be hiding from anything. He's a competitor.

If I'm Peyton I'm going to the best dome team that will take me. If the Texans are an option, I'd absolutely love to play with that defense behind me and a WR in Andre Johnson that is better than any receiver I ever had in Indy. Oh yea, and he'd get to stick it up Indy and Andrew Luck's ass twice a year.

With Schaub coming off an injury, about to turn 31 and having only 1 year left on his contract I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'd want him. They could probably get some value for Schaub.

    The stats say otherwise.

People seem to be making much of this dome or warm weather team business, and I really don't know how true that is for Manning. I doubt he's literally afraid of the elements.

But if he would prefer a dome team, I can see Arizona as a good fit for him. After all they have Larry Fitzgerald. I don't know how much more they would need with a Peyton and Larry show.

    Peyton+Texans=SB

No doubt in my mind the Texans win the Super Bowl with Peyton. They may go 19-0. That defense was scary last year, and they were a lock for the #1 seed until Schaub got hurt. And that was Schaub, he's not even that good. And that running game? It will be the end of the days.

If Houston wants him that makes a lot of sense. He has weapons on that team and a good defense on the other side. Not sure where they stand cap wise and if they want to move on from Schaub but if they are in it I would think they are the front runner.

The Cards would be a good fit too, but in Houston you get a better receiver and a top defense to go with it. They also have a better receiving TE and RB.

Yeah well the 11 to 12 wins per year that a Manning-led team can bank on every year ain't to shabby if the fantasy stats don't wet your whistle

Heard that. Also said he would probably not want to play in the NFC east so that most likely rules Washington out.
