Probably cause they’re a young team that needs a lot to go right for them to even have a chance to win. Certainly need their young qb to play better than he did today.
You have to admit it takes mad skills to be this bad for decades, with various coaches and personnel.
I really thought the new uniforms would do the trick... but nah... just another snuffed candle in the darkness...
I don't even want to think about drafting another QB next year, the very thought of that is bloody sickening, of course, if we did do so, we wouldn't get lucky and grab a Kyler Murray
I still maintain the new uniforms suck. If the best thing you can come up with on a helmet is the word Jets and a football, there's no imagination in your organization.
Do the Jets coaches have a Monday morning meeting to discuss how the players are too stupid to execute their genius game plans and are completely to blame for the latest loss?
I don't want us to take another QB but you only get a kings ransom for trading out of the spot if there is a must have QB prospect a team falls in love with
I'm not a Sam hater but let's be honest. They barely beat the Jets and Texans. They had a nice win over NO but the saints were hit hard with COVID absences that week. They have a fairly easy schedule with the AFC EAST and NFC EAST. I see them finishing. Around .500
The biggest issue is getting off to slow starts IMO. It's hard enough for a young team to win games but when you constantly put yourself in a hole and ask your rookie QB to lead you out of it? Yeah, that's a recipe for disaster. They seem capable of making halftime adjustments which is good but we can't continue to average less than 3 points in the first half and expect to win many games. I really hope Saleh, LaFleur, and Zach put their heads together during the bye week and figure out a good game plan to get this team rolling early.
Ah, sorry, misunderstood your intent, I understand now. Yes, typical Jets luck, you never know though somebody might feel compelled to take a guy that has had one great season and desperately trade the house for that player.
It can happen I guess - the Niners gave up 2 extra first rounders to move up to get Trey Lance - fingers crossed! I was just thinking SOJ as the last time we got the #1 pick was of course when we took Keyshawn Johnson and that was a year with no top QB prospects at all
A positive note and maybe one of the reasons we don't totally suck is AVT. Guy is looking the part at LG and showing everyone why we traded up to get him.
He was fired because he sucked as a HC, no we don’t need him. If you want to do revisionist history, Mike Mcarthy was the HC Jets should have hired. He is a good offensive minded coach who can develop QBs. Look at what he is doing with Cowboys, Elliot is getting 20 rushing attempts and he is running a balanced offense. Jets can’t blame everything on being “young” there are plenty of young HC and Coordinators that are having success with their respective young teams. Looks like Jets simply hired wrong people again, they can’t get the offense to sustain a couple of drives, that is just not acceptable at this level.
Agree. Every team starts their game with scripted drives to help them get a rhythm before the situational football rally starts. Lafleur's scripts really don't show any sort of instinct, flexibility or confidence. Zero outside rushing attempts yesterday. I have no idea what this guy is doing.
