Yes I most certainly do.. I also remember watching our D improve drasticly by the end of the year and I also remember seeing the FO improve the talent level of the D thru FA.

When you get a chance to get who many experts regard as the best player in the entire draft that fills a drastic need, you take it. I also believe we can fill the pass rush void in the second round or beyond.

Thomas Jones is becoming the most overrated player on this board(he is on his way to supplanting Baker for that honor). The guy has had two seasons that can be considered anything more than above average in what is now an 8 year career.

He hasn't been considered a franchise back since he was drafted in the top 10 by Arizona. Is he a serviceable RB that a team can win with? yes, is he a franchise RB? no.

Wasn't he backing up a very competent back in Chicago? The #'s escape me but didn't Jones put up 1000-1200 yards last year behind our swiss cheese line?

So you are saying you would take McKelvin OVER McFadden? Thats a hoot...do you know how bad that would be for the Jets to pass on the best player in this years draft at #6 overall???? Tangini would get reamed for years by the media if McFadden became a player.

If McFadden is there...it is a no brainer. I don't care if Leon Washington is our back up. We can play all of them. Leon can alternate 3rd downs and return kicks, TJ and McFadden can split carries. END OF STORY!

    Darren McFadden! Clap-Clap! Clap-Clap-Clap!

MCFadden is this year's Greg Olsen- people were practically knocking each other over, lining up to felate the guy.

The bears used a 2-back system with Jones and Benson. He was by no means a back up. Da Bears just made a mistake in thinking Benson could carry the load on his own.

Like I said, he has had two seasons out of eight that can be considered anything more than above average, his last two years in Chicago with a great OL. His year last year was average at best and I don't blame the OL or lack of OL as the only reason.

He is an above average to good RB in his 30s, certainly not good enough to pass on the best player in the draft for.

Except that he is on another planet as far as overall talent goes.

At least not since Blair Thomas.

    "Ignite" can cut both ways.

Chad has cornered the market on most Overrated player on this board. I would give Sean Ellis the number 2 nod. TJ could make it to the top by the end of this season though.

Ellis was overrated a few years back- now he's just seen as an over-compensated turd....

  13. Yeah, I've been saying this is a possibility for about a month now. Gholston is just as much of a physical specimen as DMAC, which will entice Davis, and Gholston fills a bigger need for Oakland.

i'll be happy w/mcfadden, c.long, or gholston, the only thing im saying is a pass rusher is a FAR more need waaaaaaaay farther than rb,

b.t.w t.jones 3 straight 1,200 + seasons, yeah ok he's overated, our o-line was pathetic last season and he had +1,200 yds and was a beast at blocking, if u wanna knock him about something, td's only 1

He has two total season where he broke 1200 yards, which is pretty much average and what any starting RB should get these days..

Yes he is completely overrated to those who think he is our franchise RB that we should pass on the best player in the draft for.

Mcfadden is much more likely to be this year's tatum bell than he is to be it's adrian peterson...

Trade down to mid first round ...pick up another 2nd or 3rd round pick and grab Johnathan Stewart with that first round pick.

Production-wise too. Everyone went ga-ga over Olsen's combine numbers and forgot that he had numbers leagues behind Shockey and Winslow Jr. at Miami. Everyone's going crazy over some of McFadden's combine numbers but he's also been one of the best RBs in college football for 3 years running now.

Yeah I would take McKelvin over McFadden if Gholston and the Longs are gone. Why? Because McFadden wouldn't be filling any need on this team, and IMO, wouldn't help us improve much at all. I can already see our run game being explosive next year with Leon getting more touches. I don't want to see him go further underutilized. Alternate 3rd downs? Screw that, if by some stretch of imagination they actually do draft McFadden, I'd trade Jones.

If it comes down to it where EVERYONE the jets were targeting are gone, and it's only McFadden available, TRADE OUT.
