Trubisky or Watson who do you want the Jets to draft if they pick a QB at #6?

Yes, if they trade ahead of us the entire discussion on Trubisky is moot.

I'm alright with that. If the Browns take him off the board before the Jets pick, that's one more elite prospect that will be available for them to pick, or to tempt another team to trade up for.

But if we are going to trade out the best haul we would get is from Cleveland if they are set on Trubisky so hoping he falls to us is still our best bet.

Yes until 3 years from now when he becomes a franchise QB and we talk about the peice of shit bust we drafted instead of him.

I'm replying to my own post because what I neglected to say in the original post is if the Jets did draft Trubitsky instead of Watson, I would not be unhappy with that pick. It would signal that the FO recognizes that QB is a long neglected position and they have taken steps to address it.

CC..........Up until now I have ignored your posts when you want to start a debate. A lot of your positions including this one, seem to be almost trolling, because I bring the word value in my post in relation to the QBs. I don't mind going back and forth when someone has a legitimate POV, but your history of posting in this forum seems to be extreme.

I not going to argue with someone who doesn't understand the word "Value" in relation to the NFL draft and doesn't get it when I said " Let's wait to 2018 for a QB (that's trying again) and not draft a QB in Rd 1 this year".

Pick a debate with someone else and don't respond to my comments from now on, I don't have the time to go back and forth with someone who doesn't get it. I won't waste my valuable time.

I'm sorry if this is harsh, but it's one of the reasons I don't post here as often as I use to. Most of the other regulars in this forum I respect their opinions, even if we disagree at times.

I'm sure the fan on a message board has it way more figured out than the guys paid to analyze football saying he's not worth the 6th pick.

3 years? When have we had the ability to develop a player over 3 years?

The only guy I can think of was Bryan Thomas and he only developed because we shifted fronts when Mangini came to town and moved him to OLB from DE.

You have hit on the problem with the QB's in this draft. None of them seem likely to be ready to roll this year and we don't have the luxury of drafting our 3rd developmental QB, 4th in a row if you count Geno. The guy we take needs to be ready to play this year. If he's not he becomes part of our long-running problem not part of the solution.

Quincy Enunwa has made tremendous strides over the last 3 years he's been in the league. Leonard Williams will be next.

Out of this QB class I think Trubisky and Mahomes are my #1 and #2. I think Mahomes has the potential to be the best but he is incredibly raw and his mechanics are very unpolished. He is a gamer for sure though.

Trubisky is a bit worrisome because of his limited starting experience but from his film you can see he goes through progressions, is pretty mobile and sneaky athletic.

I would personally prefer to not go QB high though because I think the Jets owe it to themselves and to Hack to stay true to the plan and let the kid learn and play.

On the contrary, I think it's entirely possible that Jets may try to replace Petty if they think that his ceiling is a backup.

None of these guys took 3 years to develop. The Jets were playing Enunwa as an h-back in 2015 a year after he was drafted. Leo Williams was a hot player his rookie year and a star his second.

The QB's in this class are either going to be very raw on the field or they're going to take a year to hit the field minimum. Watson is the only guy likely to be playing a lot next year in a productive way. Maybe Mahomes if he winds up in the hands of Chip Kelly or somebody willing to accommodate his rookie flaws.

  13. Totally different prospects who bring totally different things to the table. Jets need a face & a leader who will actually give the shield an identity, meaning & pride. We know Watson is a leader....is Trubisky?? No idea.

I'm sorry if you think my posts are "trolling". They're meant as legitimate. I think asking who sets "value" is legitimate, and it's not that I don't understand what it means, I just disagree with how its established, but if you disagree, fine. If you don't like my posts don't respond. That's what a forum is about.

Enunwa was a playing coming into the NFL with really no defined position, he couldn't run crisp routes was completely raw. He didn't do anything his first year, became a H-Back with receiving skills in his 2nd year and by his 3rd year he was taking on Stephon Gilmore and Malcom Butler and winning on the outside with success as a receiver. I disagree in terms of Enunwa.

Leo, first year good, 2nd year pro bowl, 3rd year all pro? We have to see. I think Leonard has another level to get to. I'll have to disagree here too.

It would seem that is the case based on 14 busts in the last ten years in 1st-2nd round picks. Our coaches and scouts suck and so do most the players they pick.

One guy will not save this team or franchise, unless it is finally a franchise QB. So if we have a shot at one we must take it, even if it means he rides the pine this season. If you think the Jets are going to be in the playoffs your nuttier than our Gm & HC. The best shot they have of keeping their jobs is get a QB and convince the owner to give them time to develop him.
