Mangini was regarded as a prodigy around the league. Everyone knew who he was and that he was Belicheck's right hand man. People in the league always expected Mangini to be a HC, most were surprised it happened this soon. Umm...duh? No shit. What's your point?
Once again...duh. No draft pick is a sure thing. Even if the FO drafted the players you wanted, they could fail. What is your point?
Ellis wasn't all that good with Abe getting the double team so wants makes you think he'll "flourish" with him MAYBE getting the double teamed? Ellis is OVERRATED!!!!
Actually, if you look at the stats, Ellis has always performed at a much higher level when Abe was out of the lineup.
I don't have time to go back and look at that, but the bottom line is that Abe is a better DE then Ellis hands down.
Pretty good post for a Dolfan! I think that our coaching won't hold us back as much as many people think.
No, the bottom line is that Abe does not fit the 3-4 at all, and his attitude made our team worse. Abe may be a better pass rusher than Ellis, but their all-around game is pretty even.
his "attitude"? this what makes some of you idiots for saying a man has a attitude problem, because he wants a long term deal. I guess going threw your life you don't care about sercuity for yourself and family.
Why the Jets really sucked last season 1- Head coaching 2- Head coaching 3- WR never had a chance 3- OL 4- CB's 5- QB's were all hurt - see 3 6- We had no pass rush when we really needed it AJ and all 7- Head coaching What's your point?. We will be better than last year almost across the board, even with a rookie HC.
The personal attacks are getting out of hand, and it's past time to reign it in. I just happened to start with you. Nothing personal, either. You can debate your topic all you want, but no more name calling or personal attacks.
1. I will have no problems if Mangini struggles early as long as he continues to learn from his mistakes. I want to see improvement and no repeat errors. My biggest problem with Herm was that the same things he did wrong in year 1 were the same things he was doing wrong in year 5. 2. See 1. 3. Our WRs are decent. The addition of Smith should make the WR corps better. 3. Our oline is probably now an area of strength; it's definately the most improved area. The beauty of our oline is that it should only get better since a lot of them are so young. 4. Our CBs are OK; their biggest problem is that they won't get any pass rush help from our front 7. 5. QBs-Another area that improved. I'm sorry but Chad, Ramsey and Clemens is a lot more assuring than Chad, Vinny and Bollinger. 6. No argument there. 7. Give it up.
As I said before. The FO, the one that you seem to have loved so much and is now in KC, offered him a long term contract and he refused. And it was MORE than fair, considering they offered it to him after he missed half the season due to injury. But he was greedy and said no. They then offered that same contract to Ellis who signed. And please, he is not and was not hurting for money. It is not like if they paid him 25 million instead of 35, the guy wouldn't be able to buy his kid a cheeseburger. I get trying to get all the money you can when you can, but enough with the taking care of your family garbage, he is more than able.
why should he get paid the same amount as Ellis? It's not about if he was hurting for money it's about getting what your worth.
