Why not just give Tebow a shot? What's to lose?

I think Denver's comeback win over miami last year took a lot less luck than the jets win over miami this year.

We've lost a total of four games to: Steelers, 49ers, Texans and Patriots. I honestly don't believe that putting Tebow into any of these games makes a difference. That's why I wouldn't bother. That and the whole media circus that would ensue, the situation with Sanchez's contract, etc. etc.

Let's look at the Peyton Manning's comeback vs. the Charger

-Peyton Manning and the rest of the Broncos played the first half like they were the worst team in the NFL. Also they looked like a bunch clowns and a circus act in the first half.

-Then the comeback started because Rivers is a clumsy idiot and fumbles the football that is promptly returned for a TD.

-Norv Turner and the DC refused to alter the defense after Peyton Manning got going.

-Then Philip Rivers started to throw multiple picks that are not even close to their intended target.

-Peyton Manning does an easy job to throw the ball because the Charger refused to tackle Manning and give coverages that are ridiculously easy to read.

-Then Philip Rivers throws the dick punch of an INT and threw it right to Chris Harris, probably the shittest route I have seen from the intended target.

    - The Chargers have Norv Turner, that is all you need to know.

This "comeback" should be called "The Meltdown in Mission Valley" or better yet, the "Game that Got Norv Turner fired"

Also remember, Tebow took over because Denver was thought to be in the Suck for Luck race, and not a division contender. The Jets are playoff/division contenders, I think it would be dumb to pull the plug on Sanchez. Though I have to say if he pulled that victory on Sunday, the Tebow talk would have been completely shut down.

Agreed. In this era of self preservation, very few coaches are going to stake their reputation on a guy they see regularly flunk out on the passing game on the field and in practice. Anyone really think that as highly technical and detailed of an approch it takes to run an NFL offense that they'd just plug in a sandlot football player and hope he can improvise his way to the Superbowl?

I ask you this, ...What coach in this league would do that?

A lot of that is on Tebow to figure out how to improve on that lack of passing skillset. Apparently he can't rely on whatever it was that worked in college. They can keep showing him mechanics all they want, and he can see all the QB gurus he wants during the offseason, but none of that stuff seems to be sinking in. His window of opportunity to being something special at the QB position is closing fast.

Teams go into prevent all the time, which is exactly the WRONG thing to do against Tebow. Drop back into coverage, he has all day to either run it against the 3 or 4 guys going after him (where he often gashed them for 15 yard gains) or find an open man. Given enough time, even he can do that.

I admit, Tebow was above average against prevent style defenses, which accounted for why he was so good in 4th quarters, but extremely piss poor any other time.

Only ONE team all year stuck with what worked all day and didn't go into a prevent of any sort... and that was Kansas City, beating the Broncos 7 to 3 at home in a game where playoffs were still in doubt.

This is why I believe Tebow is a situational player at best. Case in point, his TD conversion percentage is really high in the red zone, but he is complete garbage on the rest of the field. This is why trips to the red zone were few and far in between and ended up having to win a lot of games with 3 offensive points heading into 4th quarters all the time and hoping for some sort of a miracle. Like the Miami game. Like the Chicago game where the RB only had to fall down, but goes out of bounds giving Tebow time to attack the prevent and getting to OT, then having same RB fumble the ball away in OT.

Love how you twist our comments around to suit yourself. What is wrong with putting Tebow in on 3rd and 1 or inside the red zone? Or even going for it on 4th and 1 sometimes? I'm not talking about Tebow being the starting QB of the Jets, but I think they could definitely use him better than they do now. Maybe Tebow and Sanchez could make up for each other's shortcomings

Replies in BOLD. Won't argue his credentials and skills as a pocket QB, he has none. But people make alot of negative generalizations with no acknowledgement of the conditions he played under. When he allowed to be Tebow, he is effective anywhere on the field. It is college style to be sure, but it works much better than he is credited for and he makes relatively few turnovers.

lets all tell the truth here, the reason Tebow had an 8-5 record as a starter with Denver last year was this and only this:

Meh stop quoting constipated_citizen and phay-mort-al. Don't they make enough noise without people bringing up their tired pre-cooked songs over and over?

    Touche', BJXX.

CowboysFan, at the risk of sounding like your cheerleader: ROFLMAO.

You're so right, Potzer. But they're almost ... irresistible in their doucherie.
