Come on, man. The staff didn't want Robinson?? JD cut players the staff wanted? You know that? The organization is a mess on so many levels, you really don't need to make stuff up. .
I don’t understand some of you. We’ve gone from 2-4-7/8 in JD’s first 3 full seasons as GM. What do you expect from a complete tear down?
They traded a conditional 6th and they had two 6th round picks. Who cares? Douglas was trying to keep the team competitive after Breece went down, but sadly it didn't work out.
So now we are frying GMs for tryin to sure up a spot with a guy who has proven to be a decent back for a 5th round pick after our star Rookie went down? SOJ and if he didn’t do anything or try to we would fry him anyway right?
Because it wasn't a terrible move and its about 500th on the list of things we should be worrying about going into next year.
In the original trade thread, pretty sure I marveled at the time about JD being able to acquire James Robinson, when I was only expecting Jeff Wilson.
So many times when a GM drafts a RB in the first 3 rounds, fans are like 'WTF??? RBs grow on trees....why waste a top pick on a RB??? It's the easiest position to play". What I've learned is good/avg RBs grow on trees. But a special RB (Bryce Hall for example) is rare, and truly worthy of using a top 2 or 3 pick. Bryce, like Garrett and Sauce, transformed our team from day 1. I will be so happy when he returns healthy, even if it's half way through next season.
It was actually a sixth round pick for Robinson and if he cracked 600 yards it became a fifth round pick.
a 6th to take a flyer on a RB that looked great as a rookie then got hurt isn't a big deal to lose a trade on
Okay, so it is just a 6th Round pick? Not sure why @GQMartin even made this thread then. That is not much at all for a solid RB, who will likely help the team in 2023 while Hall gets back to 100%.
Actually pretty shrewd move by Douglas. Took a gamble on a 6th. Didn't pan out, but worth a shot. Guess he's annoyed the Jets benched him but, would love to see him re-signed. Could sure use the depth with Carter often hurt and Hall a wild card after his injury.
Is this thread for real? Dude was traded for In the same week that Breece Hall went on IR. No? It's not like It cost him a kings ransom either. I swear Jets fans will look to anything, just to bitch.
