All the reports are positive because no one in their right mind is going to report the negatives. I am sure some people aren't playing great, and those people are just not mentioned when Rex, or the FO talk to the media. There is no reason to come out and say that so and so is playing poorly in mini-camps. That would just be bad for business, who is going to pay all that money for tickets and merchandise if the CS and FO are talking poorly about the team in mini-camp or the pre-season. It's also not as if Rex has talked about all 80 or so people in camp and gave everyone a positive remark. We are talking about a couple qb's, and some O and D guys.
I understand that people in power either bullshit or die trying, but Rex lost whatever credibility he had when he talked up Ratliff and KC and then suddenly bet the future on Sanchez. I'm not saying that makes Rex worse than other coaches, but it definetely doesn't make him better. I expect KC to say "yeah, whatever" to Rex when he passes him in the hallways now.
its called misinformation and smokescreens for the draft. I like how some of you don't realize that its a business first, and the fan comes last. Its all a business, and a business that you don't burn bridges with any NFL personnel. That's why its nothing but positive things 95% of the time. Everyone needs to stop thinking that coaches are going to be totally honest in front of the media. Especially the New York media. You're wants and needs exceed your clearance.
everyone is overthinking again... it was like this when free agency began. Then the draft came and the IQ got better. But now there is really no football to speak of, so the overthinking begins again. its a terrible process
If Ryan publically said horrible things about both Clemens and Ratliff, the Jets would have had a much, much more difficult time trading up to get Mark Sanchez.
why say negative things about players you are hoping to trade to some other shmuck GM? I'm surprised rex ain't raving about how great VG is doing.
at this point there is no reason to rip anyone .. let the competition play out ..let the rippiing begin in preseason

ill join the fray and agree with this. it is completely unnecesary to make everything seem so amazing. anyone who thinks he is saying they should come out and say such and such sucks really needs to come back to reality. it would be nice to at least feel as though it was something more than sugarcoated bs coming out of their mouths every single day about every single guy.

he is. he plays my kind of football. its a beautiful thing. but the NFL isn't here to let you know every little detail of how they feel and what they think. Fans aren't entitled to what they think they deserve. its a business.
