I thought u would feel good about Brady being susceptible now to the edge rush - as well as the A gap pressure - that the giants, colts, and now broncos have been able to exploit over the years. Its about time the jets figure it out as well.
I'll wait until our first losing season under this current regime to gauge the real feelings of the fanbase. I trust Mikey Mac more than any GM we've had , but would he be able to survive back to back losing seasons? IMO we need to see atleast 5 years of him.
It seems like our GM actually has a plan that makes sense. Sign proven veterans and allow young guys to learn from them. Say what you want about Revis but it's well documented that his work ethic is second to none. He's a nice guy for players like Malcolm Butler and Marcus Williams to learn from. The Broncos were getting home without blitzing-That will beat any QB. You never see the Pats oline lose 5 on 4 like you saw yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i won't feel good until we have some young ol talent in the pipe ready to step in. right now we are a year or 2 away from a 2005ish line
Idzik preached competition. His strategy was maintaining cap flexibility by allowing old guys compete with young guys coming off injuries and draft picks for key roles. The more darts you throw the greater probability of hitting a bullseye. It sounds nice in theory, but it's just not how the NFL works since the likelihood of finding an impact player after round 2 goes down dramatically. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm excited about the future as well, but I'm trying to temper my expectations. Its completely feasible that we have a better team next season, but a worse record. Big offseason for Mac. Biggest offseason since the 12 draft pick draft.
After witnessing total chaos and self-destruction from the front office and coaching of the 4 previous regimes (Groh, Edwards, Mangini, Ryan), there is not a turtles chance crossing the NJ tnpk that I'm going to make any statement or prediction that these Jets future looks much brighter than those mentioned. I'll wait and see what transpires for 2016.
LOL. Undisclosed sources from the NY Post report seeing multiple green turtles crossing safely the NJ turnpike. Apparently the future is bright for the NYJ after all.
I feel better days are on the horizon. I kinda view this similar to 2008. We made some big moves in free agency and were a talented team just missing out on the play offs and the next 2 season we built off that and made it to back to back title games... Not saying well be fortunate enough to make it that far but being a play off team i definitely can see. Hopefully we put together another good off-season and I think well be in a similar spot for sure.
Idzik was a terrible talent evaluator. Mac would have killed it had he had 12 draft picks. Then the whole cornerback situation was a disaster.
Its hard to be optomistic about a team that couldn't beat the Bills in a win and get in game when they had zero to play for.The future is probably gonna be more of the same shit we always experience as Jets fans.I'll convince myself that this will be the year like usual but deep down I always know it isn't and never will be
I feel good about the future but this year is so disappointing. So much talent and couldn't get in the playoffs to have a chance at the super bowl. The opportunities was there and this was a team with a fairly week AFC could have actually have a great chance at winning playoffs game and make it to the super bowl. We won't be the same team next season. Much harder schedule, older, losing some good players. Hopefully we will be better but sucks that we blew a great opportunity this season.
