Why I feel Jericho Cotchery can be productive as a #1 WR.

I have to butt in - so pardon my rudeness.

I just cannot stand this moron's pointless bullshit any more.

Just look at how Giants Offense suffered once Plaxico was out for the season. That's what a true #1 receivers can do - drawing the attention of the defense, so others can make plays. Can Cotchery do that? HELL NO.

If this hasn't settled into your brain yet: Cotchery will NEVER be a #1 receiver. NEVER.

I'm not going to take the OP off my ignore list just to read this, so I apologize if I repeat anything.

Cotchery is NOT a #1 receiver. He doesn't create the matchup problems or provide the deep threat and all around game that a #1 should have. However, no one should ever argue that his value to this team is somehow diminished by that. In fact, if we do run a ball control offense this season, a solid possession receiver like Cotch is our best receiving asset. The key, as many have stated, is to get a receiver opposite him who must be respected and limits double teams on 89. We either find someone, or we hope Clowney develops into that kind of receiver.

Also, don't discount Stuckey's role. Obviously, we aren't the Colts offense by a lomgshot, but they've been great evidence for years with Gonzalez, and Stokely before him, of how a solid slot receiver can open up your passing game for the wideouts. Cotch isn't a #1, but if we get back to using him properly, he will put up solid numbers and move the chains, which is exactly what we are looking for.
