I actually think he's played quite well for two years now and that the 3-4 is his best fit. He's aware, strong and can stack and shed. I would love to have him back and Iw ould bet that he will be back. I think they're probably banking on the fact that our ENTIRE DEFNESE was pretty bad that will keep him from drawing too much interest and will therefore make it easier for use to resign him. If he gets on the market and draws only marginal interest, then it will be cheaper for us. If he gets out there and draws reasonable interest, then it will cost the same as it would have. If he goes out there and draws huge interest, then we lose out, but it's a chance worth taking as far as I'm concerned.
Hobson is a slow-ass sloth who rarely if ever forces fumbles and whose only redeeming feature is that he can get to the spot of a tackle at the end and put his hand on the downed players shoulder, which frequently gets recorded as an assist. I'm a huge Michigan fan and I didn't like him when he played for them and I hated the Jets pickup of him on the first day of the draft. Nothing I've seen since then has convinced me otherwise. I've been watching him play since 2000 and I have yet to see anything other than a slightly below average JAG out of his play.
Hobson cant be a backup on this team because he is too slow to play special teams. Victor Hobson is a slow backup LB that can not play on special teams, nothing more.
Gholston looks like a beast! Not only is he strong but a 4.65 40 at 260. I would also like to draw your attention to a UGA DL/LB at 6'2" & 250lbs. , one Mr. Marcus Howard, who just ran a 4.45 40! I don't know if any of you guys saw Georgia play this year but their defense was raucous, vicious, and raucous!
This post is kind of confusing. At first I read "Why haven't Jets resigned Hobson?" Hell ya, why hasvn't the Jets resigned Hobson? That guy sucks!!! But then I realized you meant "re-signed." Could make for a funny SNL skit. Two groups of protestors outside Lions stadium, one with signs saying "Resign, Millen!" other ones with signs that say "Re-Sign Millen!" Hilarity ensues.
Well yeah I exagerrated haha but I think he'd be above average for sure he's good inside the box he could play the 'thumper' role at 34 ILB. He played ILB in college. Speed is not as important in that role and obviously his major flaw is speed.
