The offense wasn't inept for 60 minutes, they moved the ball most of the night but shot themselves in the foot. The D was worse than the O.

The bad timeout is not an excuse to allow NE to go 80 yds in just over a minute.

Stop looking at the yardage rankings, the NE D isn't nearly as bad as that yardage #- again they are ranked the same as us in points allowed. we have give up a few more on O so our D has been a little better but they are in the ballpark w/ our D as far as allowing points which is the only # that really means anything.

I'm not looking at yardage. You are. I called the Pats D average to porous because that's exactly what they are. You said its not about yards but points, well, the D scored 2 pts before the offense did, and the offense spotted NE 14 pts as well. They were a fucking joke last Sunday and deserve the blame for that L.

How did the offense spot NE 14 pts?

The NE did is not great but it's not bad either, they aren't much worse than our D this year.

    Pick six: seven points.

Muffed punt: seven pts.... I guess that's on the special teams. Either way, not the D. The field position completely handcuffed the D there, right after they forced a punt.

Again, I'm not saying the D played up to standard. I'm saying the O never gave this team a chance to win, had the D performed.

The pick six was late in the game. The game changed in the first half when our O dominated TOP and w/ just over a minute to play NE got the ball on their own 20 yd line.

THEN when the O got the game w/in a TD in the 4th the TD allowed NE to march down the field to extend the lead to 14 again. The D was the main culprit but all phases played a role.

Geez, you guys just keep banging back and forth with the same points. The fact is you're both right - neither side could come up with a big play when it counted. The missed INTs and inability to get crucial stops hurt us just as much as the O's inability to put up points when we needed them. Both sides of the ball have issues - even ST, which is usually the most consistent part of the team fucked them over - it was just an all-around clusterfuck.

Then I guess you are saying the game changed when BB implemented an adjustment or they exposed the Gronkowski vs Smith matchup. Either way it came down to adjustments (RR vs BB). It can't be pinned on the D after they kept the team in the game for the most of it.... They fell apart but were hung out to dry. The pick six wasnt in garbage time it was the nail in the coffin.

The Brian Schotteheimer vs Bill Belichick match up is killing us.

The defense blows ANOTHER ONE, allowing Tim Tebow to go 95 yards w/ the game on the line. They couldn't even hold them to a FG. Add this to the long list of 4th qtr collapses:

2009: @ Miami, vs, Jax, vs. Atl
    2010: @Cle, vs. Houston,
    2011: @Oak, @NE, NE

Good all night except for the last fucking drive and Jimmy Leonard could have stopped it right from the get-go. This D shouldn't let that faggot Tebow do what he did. We deserved this losss.

The Defense was on the field this Sunday, along with tonight.
They played lights out for all but 1 drive.
It's in Denver where you can't breath..... there is no way this is their fault...

They Shouldn't have to be on the field this much if we could maintain a drive or have enough points on the fukin board!

He's right. This defense does not play big when the game is on the line. It's like the player who has great stats but fails time and time again at the critical moments (A-Rod?).

Imagine Michael Jordan without those game winning buzzer beating shots. Great players come up big in big moments. Yes, we have a great defense statistically. They generally play well but in big moments when we really need them to play big the fail.

Yes, it's not our biggest problem but he's right our defense is overrated. There is no excuse for giving up a 95 yeard game winning drive to Tim Tebow. That wa a pathetic defensive stand.

Yep. And most of those offenses weren't even good.

Is it the defenses fault that Rex didnt call a blitz it seemed all night, and when he did Tebow scored. Yes Jimmy missed a tackle running full speed running from 20 yards out against a quick shifty guy. What do you expect from a guy that is way below avg. size for the NFL. We have absolutely no pass rush once so ever, but why wait till Denver is on our 20 to finally blitz Tebow. Come on.

The Jets d gave up 10 pts tonight. The o gave up 7.

The offense sucks this year. Its not just sanchez either. The wrs are a
Downgrade from last season, as is the o line. If the jets offense was replaced with denvers the jets would be better off

You cant expect your defense to shut the other team out every week. If the d allows 10 pts you should expect to win.

    co-sign.

that play where Tebow scored had me puzzled. I recall he escaped to the edge on a few plays on that drive and got nice gains. Why did we blitz almost the full house thru the middle and left it to Eric Smith to defend the fort on the edge?

The defense has a disturbing habit of crumbling during crunch time. That can't be denied. But once again, the offense is the bigger issue. The Jets offense disgraced the game of football tonight.

This defense plays good enough to win a championship with. This offense? Not so much.

we dominated TOP in the 1st half vs. NE, NE gets the ball down 3 w/ just over a minute to play at their 20. Our great D allows thm to score a TD in just over a minute- how is this on the O for not staying on the field?

Last night going into that final drive where we set up the great Tim Tebow at his own 5 yard line the TOP was 31:14 for the Jets and 22:52 for the Broncos. Please stop w/ the awful excuses, the D is not and never has been a big time D. They had an O that can't throw at their own 5 yard line and they allowed them to go 95 yards for the TD. They couldn't even hold them to a FG!

Except for the whole AFC title game thing where they failed to show for each of them.
