Scarily enough the X-Factors are Drew Coleman and Marquice Cole. Every time that they are on the field in man coverage, Manning is going to attack them--if they can hold and the Jets can keep the Colts offense from sustaining long drives, then we are going to win.
yeah, we had 17 before Greene got hurt last season. Offensive-wise, it come down to blocking their ends. If we do that we score. I don't care if fucking Barney Rubble or (fuck it, right?) Paul Hackett is running our offense, we'll score if we keep them out of the pocket.
Schotty/Sanchez If the Colts are loading the box, I think Schotty (and RYAN) have to let him throw on first down often enough to back the Colts off. That means Sanchez can't get off to these slow starts he tends to have. It seems like in nearly every game he gets piked or nearly picked on a short sideline throw on one of his first couple of passes. We need to keep those safeties worried about helping out in pass coverage, and not defending the run. That doesn't mean not running the ball 30 times... it means using the pass to make the rushing game more effective.
I'm gonna say Cromartie actually. Manning knows he's not gonna be able to put up points by throwing almost exclusively to Blair White, Jacob Tamme and Joseph Addai. He's smart enough to not challenge Revis but he's gonna have to throw in Cromartie's direction, who'll probably be covering Garcon. If Cro can get an interception and we subsequently score points off that INT that could change the game.
No doubt but remember when Sanchez got killed twice because of a 5 wide set that lefy Freeney unblocked both times!? It normally would fall on the QB but That falls on the OC here because it was MS rookie season and the OC is responsible for what gets called especially when you take away the power of calling audibles. BFT!! The reason that happens is because you are predictable in play calling. The game in Chicago was great because we were unpredictable and USED THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD which is something I have been screaming for a few years now.
Offense - Solid performance by the OL no holding penalties. Control the clock Defense - Outside linebackers (Pace, Thomas, Taylor put plenty of pressure on Payton) and disrupt his timing
On offense it is Brian Schottenheimer. If he coaches not to lose and keeps Manning in the game, Manning might burn us late. If he goes for the kill early, and dosn't waste series, we might win by 2 scores. On defense, it is Jason Taylor. This might be his last shot, and he simply needs to get to Manning (and if we win, to Brady next week). If he has a big game, the Jets might get Manning rattled and get a few turnovers. If not, we might need to win a shootout.
we have to pressure Peyton bottom line. X-Factor: Jason Taylor, Calvin Pace, Shaun Ellis and I hope Ghost can get started, he looked good against Buffalo (but that is Buffalo)
