I'm going to say the entire coaching staff (not an option I know). Frankly its inexcusable to take that many penalties and its inexcusable to run an offense than anemic even without Holmes.

"The fans - Didn't cheer enough and left before the game was over?"

Heard a call on the way home asking why the crowed wasnt it to it as much as the Pats game last year.

For one it was not an exciting game.

But i will say. We stood and screamed for just about every defensive play. I cant talk and my hands hurt. And i was far from alone out there. Maybe be the new stadium.

I blame Shotty/Sanchez for tonight. Nice gameplan, shit dicks.

The crowd did the best they could. But when the D gives up that many 3rd downs, it's extremely deflating.

I voted Schotty. But it's not only that he needs to call more pass plays.

Something must be wrong with our scheme? In every other game I watch, I see receivers getting wide open in space in short or intermediate routes. Is it that other D's tend to play zone and leave gaps, or is it that our receivers our too slow or too unskilled to achieve separation?

Or is it lame play design?

The crowd thing isn't really my sentiment but it's something you always hear on this board after a loss followed by bitching about people selling their tickets to the opposing team's fans.

You can say whatever you want about Schottenheimer, but he isn't the one choosing to take all the checkdowns. He wasn't the one with a clean pocket for most the night that he did nothing with. He isn't the man setting the blocking assignments at the line. He doesn't call audibles either.

Even with a bad OC (like Hackett, or for the Giants it was Jim Huffnagel) there is no excuse for a QB to play like that in a game where he well-protected overall and is consistently playing with a short field in front of him.

Rex! Rex! Rex! He has to impose some discipline. (If I could have voted for two, Sanchez for too many semmingly frightened audibles and checkdowns where he didn't seem to even look downfield before dumpiong off.)

Certainly not Wilson, he was asked to do an awful lot in his veryt first game.

everyone had a hand in this fiasco. The only solace I take is that I knew Baltimore was good going in. (i picked them in the reodictions thread in this game) Flacco proved he could handle the blitz on third and long every time (with a little help from wilson or Cromartie). Shotty proved his balls shrivel up in the face of a tough defense.

I missed the 1Q but when you recover a fumble at the opponent's 11 in the opening minutes of the game and don't score a touchdown....well you know the rest. Pemalties were atrocious, Shonn Green looked like he was shitting his pants (i was always against letting TJ go), Kyle Wilson v Welker next week? yikes. Offensive play calling, special teams, penalties............let's just take comfort it was only 10-9 and regroup for the Pats.

I think all the listed reasons other than the fans were involved in why the Jets lost.

    All the others.

I would like to cut Wilson some slack, but that holding call on third down and 28 was one of the more brain dead plays we have seen in quite some time.

If there was an option to pick two people, I would assign the blame to both Rex Ryan and Brian Schottenheimer, but the blame ultimately has to rest with the head coach. The team was very undisciplined, with penalty after penalty resulting in better field position and more first downs for the Ravens when they did nothing to earn it themselves in many cases (they "earned" some of the interference calls due to their play at the WR position, but the Jets gift-wrapped several first downs for them). The team needs to be more disciplined next week to have any chance to beat the Patriots. The defense looks like it will be able to keep the team in the game, but the offense has to improve significantly in the next five days.

I'm really not sure why people are blaming Schotty. The freakin offense couldn't get on the field. This is Rex's fault for the team not being prepared.

How can you put all the blame on BS? Do you think he used a game plan that Ryan did not approve of?
