Don't bring draft status into it. No one knows how good someone will end up. People thought Mangold would be good but no one thought best center in the league. Arian Foster went undrafted. Tom Brady 6th round. These players are in the prime of their career so why even bring up what round they were drafted in.
Oh come on. Don't nitpick. Mangold was considered one of the top center prospects ever coming out. It's valid to consider draft positions/trends when discussing the importance of a position - or how people around the league view it. Brady and Foster are rare gems. Examples of players overlooked - a different discussion all together. Were talking about importance of a position
one will be inducted into the hall of very good, while the other will be inducted into the hall of FAME. this should't even be a question. Mangold is going to go down as one of the best centers ever.
You guys keep talking about his talents, but lets not forget how awesome of a guy Nick is too. Haha. Mangold easy.
What the Jets should have done was sign Abraham and trade Ellis for the draft pick. Abraham was by far a better player and pass rusher than Ellis. Instead, the Jets gave Ellis the big contract after 2004 and let Abe walk.
Can't agree with this. Abe was disgruntled and Ellis is now one of my favorite jets of all time, even if he did switch over to the pats. The guy deserved to be on a team where he would get his shot at the super bowl .
