    Wait, Lofa?

Why? He's a starting MLB in a 4-3. He's not going to come here on the cheap as a depth LB. That's a madden move.

And even though Roth is a good backup OLB, he is not the answer to what we are looking for to bolster the LB pressure.

Manny Lawson is definitely my #1 option.

If we can't afford him, then I want Ellis.

There are no more headliners coming in Ellis, Ihedigbo and then odds and sods during camp as other teams make cuts.

    1. Cut Bryan Thomas (or sign BT to a smaller contract), sign Matt Roth or Manny Lawson

    2. Re-sign Ihedigbo & Ellis & possibly Pool.

    3. Lock up Harris long term.

    4. Trade a late pick for a blocking TE with good hands.

Ellis for cheap to mentor Wilkerson and Ellis. Plus, for selfish reasons, I would love to see him get a ring with this team.

I don't know how much cap room is left, but I would love a second tight end. Watching balls go off Hartsocks' hands last year was terrible. Zach Miller would be a perfect fit, but he might command a decent amount of money.

Exactly. That doesn't count the rookie contracts either, Eric Smith. We have the flexibility with Mark's contract next season, and (until we hear differently) have flexibility with Pace and Scott. Cotchery will likely be cut to save $2.4 million. Other than that, there's little room to work with the contracts we have on the books next season.

    We're good on CBs.

Safeties we still need a true safety on this damn team. This team as lacked a true safety since Rhodes in 06.

Good luck! Miller was something of a dream WITHOUT Cro re-signing. There's no chance now.

I see this game as a business first.... but reading that actually stung a little.

I get why though. He is a complimentary #2 to a top 10 WR on a team that can run the ball and a QB who's very accurate. He doesn't have all of those components here. He's going to be 3rd on the depth chart, and the Jets need the picks because a lot of the cap has gone to FAs.

I still want tanny to have a 10 pick draft like in 06.

Trading Cotch makes total sense, but, man, I fucking love Cotchery. I was planning on getting that jersey pretty soon, too.

Jets lowered the salary of B Scott and C Pace by 1 million this year BUT will guarantee all of their salaries in 2012. Nice trade off

This ^ is by far and away the dumbest move yet in FA (and there's been several)

Has Tanny lost his F'n mind

I wouldn't agree with this even if Braylon had been resigned, let alone an over 30 guy who hasn't played football in 2 years
