Yes, but it might well have been becuase the FO did not try hard enough.

Striking out on all available options does suggest a pattern, don't you think?

If the Jets do suck this year, what does it matter whose fault it is at the end of yet another season? The results won't change so why bother even thinking about it. Waste of time. JMO

Depends. We don't know how aggressively we went after everyone we were linked to or where they were on the totem pole of who we wanted and at what cost. We still signed and resigned players but outside of that it's harder to judge how badly the FO missed on a player without the inside info.

I would blame the guy who kept starting Sanchez after the buttfumble on National TV.

You never have any player locked in your facility. But we did have Cro damn near locked in facility and there no way you can say DM is better then Cro. They sign for just about the same amount of money.

If the Jets tank, clearly it's Sanchez's fault.

But when the Jets do really good this season, the credit get split between Izzy for stocking the team with young talent and Rex for coaching them up. Gotta have both really. Good players and good coaches.

Maybe he can spend some in the NFL's big August Clearance Sale or keep it for next year.

According to his contract Idzik gets to keep 10.5% of any unspent cap space.

If the Jets suck this year id blame Idzik,we aren't as talented as most Jets fans think we have become. There's still a major hole at cb,questions on the o line, and no depth at WR unless you have faith that our late round picks are gonna start week 1.I'm not as confident as most Jets fans about the upcoming season.Breno the guy we signed to replace Howard has the same stats as Wayne Hunter and Colon is always injured. If the o line fails we won't stand a chance

Did you score better than a 220 on the Writing portion of the SATs?

I think one would have to determine why the team does poorly (if they do) before they lay blame. Making a decision of who to lay blame on now is making a presumption about how and whether or not the team will fail. I guess that's why this thread has agitated so many people...the season hasn't even started and you're talking about failure.

With that said, I don't like the way that the off-season has unfolded as far as the draft and FA are concerned. I will give Idzik props on the scheduling of FA events though.

If the team struggles this year then there will be plenty of blame to go around for both Rex and Idzik. Almost no head coach survives 4 straight years without a playoff berth, not even some coaches who've won a Super Bowl. This is Rex's chance to prove the doubters wrong. If he shits the bed then he should be gone next year. 4 years is ample oppty for any HC to get a team back into the postseason. However Woody has such a woody for Rex that whatever logic dictates the Jets will probably do the opposite.
