Most people on here is ready to get rid of Geno after one rookie season. But these same people want wait and see if Idzik fails. The bottom line this is Idzik team he been doing it his way now for 2 years.
We don't have a #2 Corner because of Idzik. We don't have a legitimate WR because of Idzik. Idzik let DRC,Cro sign somewhere else.Neither of there contracts was over paying them. As for WR he didn't try to get DJ
I've encountered this probelm in a number of other of his posts. It's got to be an act, you can speak like that but it'd be really hard to type it like the spoken words. _
I didn't want to get rid of him but he needed to be benched a few times last year, we just didn't have a viable backup at the time but we have Vick now who knows the system and has plenty of experience so I'd be ok with Geno starting and if he implodes again bench him. Anybody who has watched the Jets since Rex took over knows how badly we need offensive production, Geno had a lot of roadblocks to overcome last year but we need him to step up and be a leader to this offense.
I agree Geno does need to step up and be a leader. On paper we do have a better offense then last season. I would still like to see the Jets get a legit #1 WR.
I think a lot of people on here is hoping one of those wide out we drafted is going to be great this season.
We haven't had a 1000 yard receiver since 2007. We went to 2 AFC championship games without one. In fact we this year's team will probably will have the best receiving corp since Braylon and Holmes circa 2010, and light years better than last year's. What I am worried about is the O-line. We don't seem to have a guard with a pulse and downgraded at RT off what was already a porous O-line last year.
Eric Decker is a huge help but I watched some of the Broncos coaches film when we signed him and his route tree was pretty limited so I doubt he can carry our whole offense, Kerley needs to be healthy and we need a rookie or Hill to step up, Geno needs to take more command of the offense as well and start calling protections/good audibles, but thats playbook work.
Nobody has laid a finger on me, bub. I was just trying some humor. No wonder you didn't think it funny, since it was at your expense. "What is a homer?" Heh.
As for the receivers... I consider myself a Kerley fan, partly because he is one of the few draft picks on O that has outplayed his status in recent years, and I just like his style of play. But his ypc was below several other receivers including Winslow, Cumberland, Holmes and yes even Hill. While it was not good that Smith had to get used to too many different receivers last year, Kerley really was no more than about 1/6th the receiving totals at 523 out of 3270. The point is that while it was not good to have to deal with too many receivers, others did contribute. For example Cumberland who I consider to be a disappointment led the receivers in TD's, not Kerley.
Well you have to remember, we didn't have DRC locked in our facility and then someone left the fire exit propped so he was let go. The guy gets to make a decision. And he decided on the Giants. Everyone has this assumption in FA that if we didn't get the player it was because we didn't try hard enough. Players have preferences and choices too.
