I'm more interested in how we play 4 man fronts. i assume with 3 man it's goign to be mclendon in the middle and the williams and anderson rotating as the 2 DEs but with 4 man fronts i feel like 1 or 2 of the DEs is going to slide inside. trying to block leo and Q on the same line along with anderson is not going to be an easy task. I think anderson will benefit even more from it
I believe in 3 man fronts we'll use Anderson/Leo as our two 3-4 DE's with Quinnen Williams in the middle as our 3-4 NT. In a 4-3 it should be Anderson/Leo as 4-3 DEs with Q and McClendon inside as DTa
I don't think McClendon figures in our 4-3. I think I saw Jenkins lining up on end in 4 man fronts. q has also been moved out to end.
Makes sense but hey also what about using one of Jenkins/Polite as pass rushing DE in a 4-3? Pin ears back and go in a 4-3
I said Jenkins has been lining up as 4-3 end so, yea. I wouldn't expect anything out of polite at all this year. I do like a 4 man front of jenkis,williamsx2 Anderson on passing downs that should open up the A gaps for Adams/mosley
make sense. so basically anderson and jenkins (maybe luvu or copeland) on the outside and Q and leo on the inside. actually sounds pretty legit as far as collapsing the pocket. those 2 on the inside are going to be hard to contain.
It won't be.. Not being negative but our pass rush will be what it's been in recent years. We keep drafting D linemen as if something will change
Nothing wrong with drafting D linemen, if they are pass rushing specialist in a 4-3 defense. Drafting 3-4 D linemen is a waste of a high draft pick. It’s a new season, let’s hope the offense makes a big improvement and that way our defense does not have to be perfect every game. Jets offense has not helped the team at all the past couple of seasons, they really need to be a top 10-15 offense this year.
games are win in the trenches. interior pressure and shutting down a run game is huge in terms of winning a game
