I know I was. A week later we lost a heartbreaker to the Bills in the WC game. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
As if we don't have enough Doom n Gloom around here... then you bring up the ghosts of Christmas past... 'Tis the Season....
I was at that game... and the heart breaker a week later. Those were the last two games I saw at Shea... Fun times!
I was at both. I enjoyed one much more so than the other. ALMOST witnessed the greatest NFL playoff comeback of all time.
The late Dodger great Vin Scully returning to his old stomping grounds to announce a Jets' game. The most memorable part of this game was sack exchange giving Packer QB Lynn Dickey a certified beating. A week later, on a wet and cold day at Shea, it was a Richard Todd last second interception deep in Buffalo's end which ended up beating the Jets in the AFC WC game. The Bills stunning 24-0 first quarter lead turned out to be too much of a hole for the Jets to dig out of. And so this is where we are 40 years later: like some social outcasts having to beg the cool crowd for an invitation to their big dance. Gotta love progress...
