Who Stays, Ramsey or Brooks?

    well to be honest...... lets first go by Statistics for career

    what it all boils down to is QB rating...
    Bollywood 73 ( third stringer with no Ol or Running game, poor play calling, and still managed to survive, there just is no denying what we saw last year, the kid has moxie and more guts than a lot of guys have...)
    Ramsey 75 ( Played for spurrier's fun and gun offense, and obviously was not in Joe Gibbs' eyes any good, because he did get benched for MARK BRUNELL and then traded here... he has shown nothing as a jet and of course his measly 75 qb rating came with good washington teams...)

    Brooks runs for his life week in and week out, while Ramsey is immobile can't make plays on his own has a career 55.7 cmp. pecentage to brooks's 56.4 and barely edges out brooks' 73 qb rating from basically last season.... based on stats... we should keep Bollinger... but hey thats just the stats....

    thats play the practical card...

    OUR OL IS WAY TO YOUNG AND HAS NOT WORKED TOGETHER LONG ENOUGH TO GEL THEREFORE for the first few weeks whoever is QB is going to run for their lives... A QUALITY RAMSEY DOES NOT HAVE.. but Brooks does...

    I say not only do we keep brooks but he should start opening day... because he has a better arm than CP and we need a semi decent arm to keep defenses honest, and While Clemens arm is better than CP's i do not want him to turn out like Ryan Leaf, i want carson palmer, so i say let brooks run for his life... whats the worst that happens? we go 2-14? what would you do if Brooks ends up winning us 8 games? or worse? what happens if brooks accidently plays so good we begin to think he is our future and that Clemens has to wait in the wings longer than expected? we know what we got in CP we know ramsey is terrible, we know brooks has something to play as good as he did given all the circumstances last year... why not give him a real shot? if it doesn't work then we have Clemens primed for next year, but if it does, is it really a bad thing?

    ...the only way the Jets get a 4th or 5th back for Ramsey is if Rick Spielman gets in on the bidding!

    You're right, Ramsey has actually played with a supporting cast. But he still performed at the level of someone in an "oh shit there's no on else!" situation. If anything, that's an even bigger indictment on him.

    Bollinger played in 2005 behind a horrible O-line with no running game, and was pretty much forced into the situation. In 2004 Ramsey, a guy who's been groomed to be a starter, played with a 1300 yard rusher behind him. Their numbers from each season are almost indentical. Ramsey has proven that he sucks while actually having players around him. Bollinger was fighting for his life last season and still held his own. Furthermore, Bollinger has outperformed Ramsey in the preseason so far. If it comes down to cutting one of them, Ramsey has to go.

    Next game will proabably be Ramsey vs. Bollinger, so we'll get a good enough look at both of them. I say Brooks outdoes him (again).

    Unfortunately, I believe that the Jets take a $4M cap hit if they jettison Ramsey. At least I heard that from two different sources. That will likely be a big factor in deciding the fate of the QB's.

    Well that's great. Now we have 2 QBs who are on the roster because we're tied into their contracts.

    I was wondering if Jetsin2004 would comment if the $4M cap hit is legitimate since he is the resident capologist.

    I don't believe that is true. He has a roster bonus next year which probably won't be picked up if he is not playing well....
